Wrong Thing To Do

(antiMusic) Jack White, he is so revolutionary and original. Name one band from the past that sounds like the White Stripes (ok... you just named a dozen sorry). But his videos are so cutting edge and when we heard he was going to lend his tremendous talent and originality to sell Coca Cola we just had to pop open a cold one and smile, waiting in anticipation for this latest nail in the coffin of music credibility where rock becomes even more corporate and yadda yadda yadda, we're sick of ranting on this subject.

Earlier this week the new Coke ad featuring White's musical backdrop "The Right Thing To Do" was leaked onto YouTube. (Gee wonder who did that? Let's create a buzz and sell more Coke! ) Some were taken by the creativity and originality of the clip. Turns out it wasn't so original. The Tripwire being the fine folks that they are have uncovered what may have inspired the new Coke ad-- Japanese director Nagi Noda's music video for the song "Sentimental Journey". Was stealing the idea the "right thing to do?" Stay tuned for lawsuit news but until then if you want to contrast and compare, click over to The Tripwire and they will hook you up with links to both videos. - Click here for the Full Story
