Victory Sucks?
punkbands reports: Hawthorne Heights announced this week that they will be leaving their label, Victory Records. The band states that the split is "anything but amicable," and that label head Tony Brummel is to blame.

In the letter, they cite the incident with Ne-Yo (an email from Brummel asking street-teamers to hide his cd's in stores so Hawthorne's own would be more visible to consumers), as well as Brummel's bickering with a program director of a Chicago radio station over airplay (subsequently leaving HH out of radio rotation), as instances of his greed and disregard for the band. The band goes on to explain that they have never received a single artist royalty from Victory, despite selling 1.2 million copies of "The Silence In Black And White."

They describe their relationship with Victory as abusive, claiming they were too afraid of the consequences to speak out against the label. They claim the same is true for every band on Victory's roster. [But it's the biggest label in the universe oops emo label. Wait, indie label.. sorry. Their message is pretty damning, see the full story for that. Also they are reportedly suing Victory for lost record sales, lost publishing revenues, lost merch revenues, lost touring revenues and damage to Hawthorne Heights reputation.] - Click Here for the Full Story
