Last November |
antiMusic reports: For this week's 2&2
we actually have an Inside Track interview with Luke Pilgrim of Last November.
Luke answers our questions and takes us track by track through the band's
new album All The Gory Details. 2&2: The first obvious question:
Where did your name come from? ** Luke: Originally, Last November had
no meaning whatsoever. It wasn't until about two years after I thought
of the name that any significance formed from it. I wrote a song called
"On New Years Day" and the chorus of the song says "This will be our last
November/ I'm praying I make it through
December..."
2&2: How would you describe your
music to someone that hasn't heard it? ** Luke: Like a struggling young
rock band trying their best to survive in an industry that's consumed with
fake sincerity. We aren't reinventing the wheel. It's only rock 'n roll.
I can't claim to be the best songwriter around (especially while Paul McCartney
is still alive), but I will say we're putting ourselves out there. We don't
have to be dragged to the slaughter. We drive ourselves there with smiles
on our faces. Because whether anyone ever listens to us or not, they can't
say we didn't try our damnedest. [check out the full story link for the

Guns
for GNR Tickets |
blabbermouth.net reports: According to the
San Francisco Chronicle, Oakland city officials will reward anyone who
turns in a gun this Saturday in Sobrante Park and next week in DeFremery
Park with two tickets to the Dec. 15 concert by GUNS N' ROSES at Oracle
Arena.
"GUNS N' ROSES - the band?" asked Mike
Magardo, a 34-year-old Oakland resident. "I think that's a little off the
mark. In general, the folks who would show up for a gun exchange in those
neighborhoods either don't know or care who GUNS N' ROSES are."[see full

Ratt
Reunion |
blabbermouth.net reports: Vocalist Jizzy Pearl
(LOVE/HATE) appears to have left RATT, the band he has fronted for the
past six years following the departure of original singer Stephen Pearcy.
In a Dec. 4, 2006 posting on his official web site, Pearl wrote, "It's
time to go. Thanks to all the RATT fans for all the good times and good
luck to the guys for the future."
Although there has been no official confirmation
on the matter, it is believed that RATT's original/surviving members
Pearcy (vocals), bassist Juan Croucier, guitarist Warren DeMartini and
drummer Bobby Blotzer are planning to reunite for a tour in 2007.[see

Dimebag Track |
blabbermouth.net reports: Dan McNew, the organizer
of the Ride for Dime bike rally in honor of late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist
"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, has posted the following message on the RideForDime.com
web site:
"We all know Dimebag's musical roots were
in country western music, and we all know what a great sense of humor he
had. And last but not least, Dime supported the local music scene in Dallas
and would sometimes record with local musicians. I ran into one of those
musicians, 'Throbbin Donnie Rodd' tonight [Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006] in a
club who told me the story of how Dimebag sat in on a recording session
with him and recorded this country western song called 'Country Western
Transvestite Whore'. Dime plays lead guitar and lead vocals. I just wanted
to pass this song on to everyone. Enjoy!" [see full story for the download

Billboard
Awards Winners |
Las Vegas Sun reports: An R&B veteran
and a young upstart won big Monday night at the 2006 Billboard Music Awards.
A 17-year-old lothario, Chris Brown, took
home new artist of the year, male of artist of the year and artist of the
year awards. But it was a seasoned artist that took home the most honors.
R&B diva Mary J. Blige's comeback album, "The Breakthrough," delivered
nine awards to the 35-year-old singer, including R&B/Hip-Hop artist
of the year, female R&B artist of the year and R&B/Hip-Hop album
of the year.
Country crossover Carrie Underwood's "Some
Hearts" won both country album and album of the year. The "American Idol"
winner was named female country artist of the year. Canadian rockers Nickelback's
"All the Right Reasons," won rock album of the year and artist-duo/group
of the year. The band closed the show jamming to "Looking for some Touch,"
with Kid Rock and ZZ Top. [see full story for more][see full story for

Staind
Taking A Break |
TuneLab reports: It's going to be awhile before
there's a new Staind album in record stores according to front-man Aaron
Lewis. In an interview with Billboard he said, "Everybody needs some time
off. I like to try to make sure the surface is clean. You've got to let
all the build-up from being on tour and playing the same songs over and
over again go away and have a clean slate to start over with so we don't
repeat ourselves.
We've kept a pretty rigorous schedule from
the word go in our career. We've been around for 10 years and made five
records; that's a pretty serious work schedule. I don't think there's anything
wrong with slowing that down just a little bit and giving people a little
bit of an opportunity to miss what we have to offer."[see full story for

Underground |
Gigwise reports: A ridiculously rare Velvet
Underground acetate album is on sale on eBay with the highest bidder, at
the time of press, offering $106,400 for the piece.
The album is so pricey because it's thought
to be the only surviving copy of the early version of The Velvet Undergrounds'
classic eponymous album.
The 1966 recording features nine alternative
versions of Velvet Underground tracks and is thought to be part of the
much reported Lost Scepter Studio Recordings.[see full story for more]-

Doherty
Justice |
hecklerspray reports: Pete Doherty is a funny
old goose, isn't he? In the space of just over a year he's gone from being
the critic's dirty-fingernailed darling to a widely-regarded spuff-monkey,
but it can't just be because Pete Doherty's music is rubbish, can it?
Of course not - most of the reasons why
Pete Doherty is quickly falling out of favour with everyone is because
he keeps on ending up in court on tedious drugs charges. Like he was earlier
today, turning up for sentencing on one of the roughly 12 billion times
he's been arrested for possession of drugs lately. And the good news is
that Pete Doherty managed to avoid jail yet again, instead being slapped
with a £770 fine and a four-month driving ban. Well, at least that's
good news for Kate Moss at least, since she won't have to wait until Pete
Doherty gets out of chokey before she can become the wife of a jumped-up
tuneless busker now.[see full story for more]- Click

announcement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"I am saddened to report that Rick Scott
Crocco passed away on the morning of December 3, 2006 in his home in Salt

Sheldon's
Appetite |
DiR reports: The Steven Adler fansite has
a brand new interview with Sheldon Tarsha, former frontman for Adler's
Appetite. Here is an excerpt where he discusses his new CD: Well, you know,
after the whole (Adler's Appetite) break-up in Germany, I came back to
LA, and I knew what I had to do, "I gotta make a record!". That was the
plan with Adler's Appetite the whole time, I was thinkin' we're gonna make
a record and put it out, and then the band broke up, and I was like, "Dude,
I ain't stoppin now!". So, I started shopping for a deal with several different
companies, but I just decided to get an investor and do it that way, make
it independently. I built a state-of-the-art recording studio and produced
the record myself. It's kinda crazy, I went like 'one-man band' style on
it; did all the drums, guitar, bass, vocals, and engineering and production.
I just did everything myself, it's a twelve song album, it's called TARSHA
PROPHECIES. It will be available online at my website, TarshaRock.com![see
