Free Mojo
BW&BK reports: STUCK MOJO have made available their entire new record, Southern Born Killers. About distributing the album for free, guitarist Rich Ward (also FOZZY) explains:

"You read that right! Download the songs, share them with your friends and, if you like what you hear, let potential new fans know where they too can get the songs for free. Why would we give the songs away for free? Well, we've been recording records for free for almost twelve years now anyway! Of course it wasn't free to you, the fans. You thought you were supporting the band as you shelled out 16 bucks to a retail store which kept five or six of those dollars for a few inches of shelf space and the rest ended up at a record company in New York, Los Angeles, London or Germany.[see full story for more and the link]- Click Here for the Full Story

Nicole Richie DUI
TMZ reports: TMZ has learned that Nicole Richie was arrested for DUI early Monday morning. She was booked at 4:50 AM today and was released 45 minutes ago. The booking sheet reveals Richie is 5'1" and 85 lbs. A rep for Richie could not immediately be reached for comment.

We're told her SUV was spotted by two motorists going the wrong way on the 134 Freeway in Burbank. The drivers called 911. When the CHP responded, Richie was stopped in the carpool lane and was alone in the vehicle. When cops approached the vehicle, Richie was on her cellphone.

The Deal with Birds Of Avalon
PR reports: Raleigh, North Carolina's Birds Of Avalon, who feature Paul Siler and Cheetie Kumar formerly of The Cherry Valence, have signed to Volcom Entertainment. Their as yet untitled album is in the final stages of mixing with producer's Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Let's Active, Wilco), Greg Elkins and Brian Quast, and will be released this coming Spring 2007.

Having developed a unique psychedelic meets progressive sound that yields feelings that transcend the conventions of both, the Birds Of Avalon skillfully channel elements of a time in Rock since past, while representing their current place in the lineage of North Carolinian independent rock heritage. Easily traversing the gray area between raw blues rock and atmospheric pysch-pop, Birds Of Avalon have recorded a self titled e.p., toured up and down the east coast, throughout the Midwest and eventually around the entire US earlier this summer, sharing the stage with luminaries such as Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Fucking Champs, Big Business, Oneida, Mudhoney, Valient Thorr, Destroyer, Federation X and Drunk Horse.- Click Here for the Full Story
