Neurosis Recording
PR reports: While most of us will be exchanging gifts and drunkenly sloshing in holiday cheer this month, legendary and innovative Bay Area punk-metal-psych sextet Neurosis returns to the studio with revered engineer Steve Albini. It will be the group's tenth studio album and its fifth full length recorded with Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Pixies, Shellac, et al.) at his Electrical Audio studio in Chicago. According to guitarist/vocalist Steve Von Till, the songs are "forging some strange, noisy psychedelic territory that is pretty disturbing." Neurot has slated the album's release for May 2007. In January next year, the legendary band will play San Francisco and Los Angeles with support from Red Sparowes and the trip-enducing psych-jazz quintet Grails. The Los Angeles show is January 13th, 2007 at the El Rey Theater and San Francisco is the following night, January 14th at the Great American Music Hall.- Click Here for the Full Story

Idol Vs Porn Star
www.bandpulse.com reports: It seems Kelly Clarkson doesn't mind being seen on-stage with Metal Skool slightly buzzed and clutching a bottle of Chivas Regal But when it comes to riding in the back of a van with known adult film maker and Society 1 mastermind Matt Zane, it is just pushing this American Idol's image a little to far. An inside source from NRG Studio's reports that "...Kelly Clarkson's people are pissed..." and that they pressured NRG to take action against You Tube for posting the clip. NRG was successful at having the clip banned by using their copyright to the NRG name and likeness but not until over 200,000 views. If this wasn't enough a news piece was done on the E Channel's "Daily 10" showing Kelly sitting next to Zane in a van and then toilet papering Amy Lee's house.

A version called "At The Studio - Kelly Parts" has now surfaced on You Tube which still contains reference to NRG Studios and shows Clarkson committing the act of vandalism but Matt Zane as well as Ron Jeremy have been omitted.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

His latest and 5th solo album in seven years, entitled Strangelet, is slated for a March 27 release on Zoa / Rounder Records. It was written, engineered, produced and performed almost entirely by Phillips himself with a little help from his friends including R.E.M. guitarist, Peter Buck.- Click Here for the Full Story

Onesidezero Punishment
PR reports: Corporate Punishment is extremely proud to announce the addition of Los Angeles based ONESIDEZERO to their growing roster. The band is currently in the studio working with producer Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) on their untitled sophomore album, which is slated for April 3rd, 2007 release by Corporate Punishment.

"We are all very eagerly awaiting the release date to get this record out in the hands of our fans," says Onesidezero guitarist Levon Sultanian. "It took us almost six years but we knew in order to be real, we couldn't rush it. Soon after we had the whole thing written we joined forces with the great Ulrich Wild. He just came in to our studio and just listened and didn't try to change us, but take us further into making what we had greater. This time around I went back to my roots as far as song writing. Back to the Metal, Classical, Blues and all the good stuff my parents raised me on. Our old fans will still feel the classic Onesidezero vibe, yet, we will be reaching out to wider audiences as well."

The band recently set up a MySpace account to debut two new tracks for fans to preview material from their forthcoming album.- Click Here for the Full Story

Axl Sets GNR Release Date, It's official
antiMusic reports: Axl Rose published an open letter to Guns N' Roses fans today on the band's official website. He addressed several issues including a split with management, the canceling of several shows and a release date for the long awaited Chinese Democracy album (if all goes according to plan). Unfortunately, the 2006 release date isn't going to happen but the good news is the wait is almost over. The first time Axl has given a firm date (with some qualifications) and bell roll please the release date is March 6.

"In the end, it's just an album, but it's one that I, the band, our record company and all involved believe and feel is a true Guns N' Roses album," said Axl in his statement. "Ultimately the public will decide, and regardless of the outcome, our hearts, lives and our passion has been put into this project every step of the way. If for no other reason, we feel those elements alone merit your consideration. We do hope you can hold on just a bit longer, and if not, please take a break and we'll be more than glad -- if you so choose -- to see you again later."
