Gigwise reports: Bjork and Prince are amongst
the artists set to feature on a Joni Mitchell tribute album.
All acts who appear on A Tribute To Joni
Mitchell cover versions of classic tracks by the songstress. Also performing
renditions include Sufjan Stevens, James Taylor, Elvis Costello and Emmylou
Harris.
The album hits the shelves Stateside on
March 5 via Nonesuch records and should get a similar release date in the

Gigwise reports: Gigwise has learnt that Primal
Scream are set to leave their record label Columbia in the new year.
Their album 'Riot City Blues' will be their
last on the label before they move on to pastures new. According to a source
close to the band, the departure will by no means signal the end of the

Gigwise reports: The Darkness have signalled
their intent to soldier on despite the loss of charismatic singer Justin
Hawkins by apparently replacing him with their bass player.
According to the Daily Star who, lets
face it, could be just making this up the mock-rock band will now be
fronted by Richie Edwards, who joined the band last year to replace the
acrimoniously departed original member Frankie Poullain.[But can he yodel?

$1.65 trillion Lawsuit |
punkbands reports: Russian music site allofmp3.com
has been sued by the RIAA. RIAA is suing the website AllofMP3.com on behalf
of EMI, Sony BMG, Universal Music, and Warner Music in the amount of $150,000
for each of the 11 million songs that were downloaded from June to October
of 2006. That comes to a lawsuit totaling $1.65 trillion![see full story

PR reports: RockdotRock was formed in late
Summer 2006 by Symantec Corporation as an alternative to broadcast advertising.
The band was selected from a pool of 20 competing acts who were ready to
lend their chops to the cause of internet freedom. As the world's first
adverband, their goal is to create awareness for their sponsor through
the majesty of rock n' roll. And in addition to having CD EPs available
for reviews and giveaway, I also have assets ranging from links to audio
streams of the entire EP and free MP3s (please distribute) to the link
to the YOU THINK YOU KNOW ROCK? quiz (where you have to determine rock
stars by their poses give it a shot
).
As Sasha the lead singer puts it, Being
adopted as Symantec's official BOR (band of record) is not something I'd
ever considered, but now that it's happening, I'm seeing a lot of possibilities.
I mean, what is rock and roll anyway but an advertisement for the rock
and roll lifestyle? So why can't it be an advertisement for software...or

Submitted News reports: If you haven't heard
from one of the 100 of gossip sites, Dirt (Society 1 bassist) recently
tattooed Britney Spears in his Devil Doll tattoo studio in Studio City,
CA. The photo's and video were just released days after a video surfaced
on You Tube of Society 1 frontman, Matt Zane, and Kelly Clarkson in the
back of a van going to toilet paper Amy Lee's (Evanescance) house. What
is it with these pop stars interacting with the boys of Society 1? Society
1 is currently in the studio working on the follow up album to 'Years of
Spiritual Dissent' which they plan on releasing through a soon to be determined

Black & White PR reports: Austin rockers
Broken Teeth will be wasting no time ringing in 2007 in the only way they
know on the road. The band will be taking a break from recording their
third album tentatively titled Electric to head out to the West Coast to
bring fans a taste of some of the new songs. Broken Teeth recently struck
a new distribution deal with Corporate Punishment Records, which is distributed
by Navarre. The new deal will ensure that fans all over the country will
be able sink their teeth into Electric when it hits stores later this year.
Fans will also be able to hear Broken Teeth on the debut edition of XM
Radios new show The Breaking Bones Hour on The Boneyard Channel which
debuts January 7.

PR reports: Nelly Furtado will celebrate 2006
and welcome the new year by headlining a show in Mumbai, India on December
31.
The concert is part of Nokia New Year's
Eve, a global music event being held in five party capitals of the world,
starting in Hong Kong's Ocean Terminal, followed by Mumbai's Andheri Stadium,
the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janerio and rounding
off the night in New York City. Stretching across four continents, the
events are expected to have a combined television and internet audience

TMZ reports: Michael Jackson blames his financial
mess on his former accountants, and he's suing to make things right.
TMZ has obtained a lawsuit filed by Jacko
against Bernstein, Fox, Whitman, Goldman & Sloan, the singer's former
CPA's. In the suit, filed late Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court,
Jackson claims the firm withdrew $2.5 million a year from his accounts
but did not pay the bills as ordered.
Jackson alleges the firm hired and paid
people on Jackson's dime, without his authorization. Jackson has been dogged

to speed. The Daniel [Dan Daponde, guitar] has bowed out gracefully. For
those of you have been asking about Daniel J. Daponde, here are your answers:
due to health problems, Dan has been forced to leave his position as a
badass guitar player in The Acacia Strain. We miss him a whole bunch, and
we are sure you all do as well. Wish him luck in his future endeavors!
We are NOT currently looking for a replacement.
