50 Cent Retiring?
Ananova reports: 50 Cent has revealed he'll only make two more albums.

Speaking to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 1, 50 said he was enjoying the music biz but wants to see out his record contract before moving into acting.

Bon Jovi Plane Accident

Wilson Pickett 1941-2006
antiMusic reports: Soul legend Wilson Pickett died on Thursday at the age of 64. Pickett best known for his R&B megahits, "In the Midnight Hour" and "Mustang Sally," died in Virginia hospital following a heart attack. 

Pickett was born March 18, 1941, in Prattville, Ala.. He found his love of music singing in his church choir. As a teenager he moved to Detroit to live with his father and stretched out musically first as a member of gospel group Violinaires and later made the switch secular music as a member of the Falcons. That group scored a hit with "I Found a Love" which paved the way for a recording deal for Pickett with Atlantic Records. The Rock n Roll Hall of Famer, never slowed down until a year ago when his health took a turn for the worse. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Gays Vs Idol
Contact Music reports: Bosses at America's leading gay rights group are demanding a summit meeting with the producers of TV talent show AMERICAN IDOL after claiming the programme is "increasingly homophobic".

Officials at the Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) were appalled by homophobic remarks made by judges SIMON COWELL and RANDY JACKSON on the first show of the new season, which aired in America on Tuesday (17JAN06).[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Mammoth Press reports: The Arctic Monkeys' first record could become the fastest-selling debut rock album since records began, according to experts. 

The band released Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not on Monday (January 23 [in the UK]). Retailer HMV claim that their pre-orders suggest demand is the highest for any debut rock act since the release of Oasis' Definitely Maybe in August 1994. Dave Lepard RIP
Blabbermouth reports: Frontman David Hellman (a.k.a. Dave Lepard) of the Swedish sleaze metal band CRASHDIET was found dead [Friday] morning. It has been unofficially reported that he hanged himself, although this has yet to be confirmed. More information will be available during the coming days.

CRASHDIET was a Stockholm, Sweden-based Eighties hard rock-style band whose debut album, "Rest in Sleaze", entered the Swedish national album chart at position No. 12.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Dimebag Tribute DVD
Blabbermouth reports: "DimeVision - Vol 1: That's The Fun I Have", a tribute DVD to late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, will be released on April 4 via Big Vin, the new label launched by Dimebag's brother Vinnie Paul. hecklerspray reports: We haven't had a good rap battle in ages - nothing gets us more excited than hearing rich young black men giving each other a jolly good slagging in songs. Lately, Cam'ron has excelled himself at this.

Anyone can make a three or four minute song calling people idiots and saying that their girlfriend is a bit rubbish, but Cam'ron has recorded a song entitled You Got It, where he lays into Jay-Z.
