Daniel James "DJ" Boyd, 27, who was a semi-finalist during the hit television show's 5th season, was arrested last month in West Valley City after a 14-year-old girl contacted police. Weezer RIP
antiMusic reports: Sad news for Weezer fans, it looks like the band is finished. At least for now. Rivers Cuomo told MTV that the band is on indefinite hiatus. "For the moment we are done," he said. "And I'm not certain we'll ever make a record again, unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need to do one."

So has the recent Ivy League grad given up music? "All this year, I've been feeling pretty creative and excited, so I've been writing a lot. I don't know what'll happen with these songs - if anything - I just sort of write them and I can't stop. I certainly don't see them becoming Weezer songs, and I don't really see the point of a solo career. So we'll just have to wait and see."- Click Here for the Full Story

PR reports: Johnny Cash's "American V: A Hundred Highways" (American Recordings/Lost Highway) debuts at Number One on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums and Top Country Albums charts. The album, which was released on the Fourth of July, takes the top spot with sales in excess of 88,000 copies, according to Neilsen/Soundscan.

Clapton Fans Seeing Red
antiMusic reports: [The following was an open letter submitted by some Russian Eric Clapton fans, edited to length. Since this is a reader submission we are unable to confirm it's validity but we will post a formal response if it is submitted] Clapton's Concert in Red Square Turning into Private Party. This is to inform you about some problems with the organizers of Eric Clapton's forthcoming concert in Moscow. The initial plant was to arrange a fans' area in front of the stage, and we got quite lucky to buy these tickets. However, yesterday we were proposed to return the tickets as this is now an area for VIP seats. Our fans' area tickets cost us around $50, and now the VIP seats are sold for $780.Since the day the tickets were offered for sale the organizers have changed their prices several times.

We wonder how Clapton's tour management could agree to deal with an organizer as inexperienced as this. Do Eric and his management know that the fan's area has now been taken to a rear part of the square and he is supposed to face 50 rows of seats? Are they aware that there's still no formal permit for performing this concert in Red Square?[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

"Many fans complained that Children Of Bodom didn't show up on a promoted gig in Saskatoon, Canada on July 10th which was never officially confirmed by the band or their booking agency. This gig wasn't listed in the official tour dates and the band wasn't even aware that the promoter used their name for this gig. Throwing Muses Again
CMJ reports: The original lineup of Throwing Muses, fronted by Kristin Hersh, who went on to lead 50 Foot Wave, among other projects, will reunite for several shows this August. According to manager Billy O'Conell, "Throwing Muses is rarely offered the opportunity to play together, but recently an Icelandic festival approached them asking if they would play. The offer was generous enough to underwrite the expenses involved in getting the three of them together again and cranking up the ol' machine." He added that it was just a matter of booking a few more US shows to take advantage of the re-grouping situation.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
