Gerbil Vs Rock Star
Edmonton Sun reports: The Rock Star contestants are giving a big thumbs down to Supernova's debut single. At least that's the word from ousted Vancouver singer Jenny Galt. [the girl voted out last week that sounded a bit like a gerbil]

"A lot of people in the group are skeptical about what kind of music they are playing. (Supernova) say they want to do something fresh and new, but then the first track we got to hear, a lot of people were just like, 'Eww, I'm not sure if I like this,' " says the 29-year-old Montreal-born pop-rocker.

"It sounded just like that same old, boys' rock 'n' roll kind of glam thing they said they weren't going to be doing. It was a bit surprising." [see goes on to further dis the group and their future, see the full story for that.] [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

What GNR Riot?
Blabbermouth reports: GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Richard Fortus has dismissed reports that the band's frontman, Axl Rose, nearly started a riot in England after delaying a concert so he could first eat dinner. According to a report published in the Sunday Mirror, the 44-year-old singer refused to perform at a reunion concert at the Metro Arena in Newcastle on July 19 until he was given a roast lamb dinner, prompting fans in attendance to become very disruptive. Responding to published reports, Fortus has issued the following statement:

"To my knowledge, there was never a bottle thrown at the stage while we were on it. Newcastle (in my opinion), was one of (if not the), best shows of the tour. It was also the hottest! It was a steam bath! The fans were amazing, and seemed 100% with us the entire show. It was a really magical show for me, until the very end. Pet Vs Emo
Gigwise reports: Be Your Own Pet have revealed that they turned down a place on the Vans Warped Tour in the US because they didn't want to play with a bunch of emo bands.

The Nashville quartet were approached to take part in the hugely popular tour this year but the bill just wasn't for them.

"It's not really our thing," Nathan Vaquez told the Washington Post. "We didn't want to be with all those other bands that are playing. All this emo-screamo stuff seems so overdone and pretentious and not real."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
