Death Cab for Yahoo

Yahoo reports: On Tuesday June 6th, indie-pop stars Death Cab For Cutie will debut the new video for their latest single “I Will Follow You Into The Dark” exclusively on Yahoo! Music. In true Death Cab fashion the video features unique artistic qualities that provide a simple but intriguing indie-video. “I Will Follow You Into The Dark” is the latest single from the band’s 2005 critically acclaimed album Plans, which has sold over 500,000 copies since its release. In October 2005, Death Cab was chosen as Yahoo! Music’s “The New Now,” a segment within the “Who’s Next?” program, and have since been a smash hit. Death Cab will embark on a short European tour in June and can also be seen this summer at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Lollapalooza. PR reports: Heavy Metal superstar Rob Halford - The Metal God - has purchased his ground-breaking, critically acclaimed Halford catalog from Sanctuary Records U.K. The three albums under the band name: Halford include 'Resurrection' (2000), the two-CD concert recording 'Live Insurrection' (2001) and 'Crucible' (2002).

The Halford titles were acquired January 2006, and they will be the first music releases to possess The Metal God's new corporate imprint: 'Metal God Entertainment' (MGE) an entity which will act as exclusive production company and label for Rob's future solo music and film releases. Under new licenses, much of Rob's existing and new titles will release through global-label partners whom have worked previously with The Metal God. Additional details available late-summer 2006. Vincent McAllister RIP

PR reports: Vincent McAllister, the guitarist and a founding member of seminal metal band PENTAGRAM, has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 51. McAllister played guitar in the classic 70’s PENTAGRAM line-up that also included vocalist Bobby Liebling, bassist Greg Mayne and drummer Geof O’Keefe. His recorded works can be heard throughout the various PENTAGRAM collections.

McAllister was highly respected as a guitarist and person amongst his peers. McAllister had spent the past few years working on material in his home studio and planning to return to playing again with former PENTAGRAM members O’Keefe and Mayne. - Click Here for the Full Story

Capitol reports: When singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae’s self-titled debut album entered the U.K. album chart at #1 in March, she made chart history as the first female British artist to do so with a debut album of original songs. Corinne Bailey Rae is currently certified double Platinum there, and Gold in numerous other countries, with worldwide sales already well over one million. Now Bailey Rae is poised to take North America, launching the album with performances on “Good Morning America” (June 19th) and “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (June 27th) as well as a series of sold-out shows in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Rush Replay X 3 Box Set

PR reports: Rush is planning DVD Box Set release on June 13th. Rush built its phenomenally loyal following on its legendary performances. Even after more than 30 years on stage, Rush live on homevideo remains a hit. The DVD companion to the band's most recent album, 2003's Rush In Rio, is five times platinum. 2005's R30, a DVD-only live-and-more package, is triple platinum. Now the band's first three concert homevideos, each of which is out of print in the U.S. in any format, will be issued for the first time together and on DVD. The four-disc box set Rush Replay x 3 (Mercury/UMe), released June 13, 2006, combines the three DVDs--Exit…Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure and A Show Of Hands--with a never-before-released CD soundtrack version of Grace Under Pressure. Each DVD features new 5.1 surround sound and stereo mixes created by guitarist Alex Lifeson from the original concert multi-tracks as well as digitally transferred and remastered visuals. Gnarls Crazy Deletion

PR reports: Gnarls Barkley's phenomenal hit 'Crazy' will be deleted this week, ending a phenomenal run of nine consecutive weeks at the top of the UK charts. The decision to delete 'Crazy' was made to ensure that the focus of the Gnarls Barkley campaign now falls on the second single, 'Smiley Faces', scheduled for a July 17th release.
