Silly News: Jolie is So Punk Rawk
punkbands reports: A few different entertainment websites are reporting that new mom and all-around psycho, Angelina Jolie if a fan of what she calls "punk rock." Of course what you and I consider "punk" may be slightly different than what the actress claims is. "I love punk rock because it's honest and there's a lot of feeling behind it" she says. "Bands like The Clash and Matchbox 20 are great." Ok, The Clash I'll give you... but Matchbox 20? - Click Here for the Full Story

Jello Art
antiMusic reports: Do you have artistic talent? What about far left political beliefs? If you fit that bill you may be able to help Jello Biafra (Ex Dead-Kennedy) with the artwork to his new spoken word album "In the Grip of Official Treason". While the album will take on contemporary political issues and figures, he doesn't want a "dated" album cover. "Rough concepts or even found photos or old art is possible. I don't want anyone to go to too much work when the image might not be used," Jello wrote in an email soliciting submission. "I've also talked to Winston Smith, John Yates and others about this, so we'll see what happens. I don't want any designs too reliant on Bush, Saddam, Condosleezza, etc., that will date the whole thing like an '80s Hardcore album with Regan on the cover. But if you feel inspired, deadline is July 4." [see full story for submission info but be warned Greenmuse will most likely be at the top of the list!]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bored Radiohead
antiMusic reports: As many of you know Radiohead's Thom Yorke has decided to release a solo CD dubbed "The Eraser" which hits stores in North America on July 11th. Some have wondered why Thom would take a break from working on the new Radiohead album to work on this effort and he explained to The Observer that part of the reason was that he immense amount of time working with Radiohead "was getting boring."

"It felt like everyone was under obligation to do it rather than because we wanted to do it," Yorke told the paper. "And one of the things I had wanted to do for ages was get stuck into a bunch of things that I had been mucking around with that didn't fit into the Radiohead zone."

Now you know. - Click Here for the Full Story

Circle of Dead Children Dies?
SMN reports: Pennsylvania based grinders CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN have posted the following update:

"Mike Bartek is no longer a part of CODC and for the indefinite time being we are forced into hiatus. We apologize to the promoters and bands we have had shows booked with as well as the fans, as we were about 3/4 of the way through the next full-length release. There was absolutely no way around this. Mike had a list of "qualities" that would have had him tossed from most bands, but friendship was what mostly kept him with us. This time he crossed way over the line and defecated on any concepts of friendship and respect possible and stooped lower than we thought even he would ever go.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Karma is a Bitch
Reader Submission reports: I don't want to make this another "against mental illness" thing. I'd rather dance in the livin' room with the little B! You know, I've had 22 psychiatric hospitalizations, and that's an awful lot of work at nothing for nothing..."The Wind" is a mudbubblin' mess of a suit of armor that got snatched up real fast...because insofar as five million dollars are at stake, "We All Shine In"! And that goes double for my family, While I sit in a senior citizens group in a "Mrs. Robinson" affair...You know, "Reisa, take off your glasses and break them" and "Buy that poor redhaired chick a cup of coffee tomorrow." You know what it's like, man? It's like there's a big cuecard in your tummy that "is telling you what to do", and you just do it! And "We All Shine On", like "Instant Karma"...like John Lennon's song. So, you know, sue me for telling the truth...I don't care. Good luck to you,1,2,3....- Click Here for the Full Story
