Expanded
Venom |
PR reports: VENOM 'CAST IN STONE' expanded
edition out via Sanctuary Records July, 18th 2006. "7 Days of Hell" North
American tour confirmed for August, 2006. Originally released in December
1997, Cast In Stone also became known as the reunion album as the original
line-up of Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon put the past behind them to once
again grasp black metal by the barbs. This edition of the album has been
completely remastered by Cronos, who also presides over the entire artistic
direction. As per the original release, a bonus disc of classic re-recorded
Venom tracks is retained but this time a further five tracks from the rare
Venom '96 mini album, recorded as a limited edition release for the band's
Dynamo Festival headline to 90,000 fans, are added.[see full story for

Napalm
Death's Smear Campaign |
PR reports: Napalm Death, UK's godfathers
of Grindcore have finished recording "Smear Campaign", the highly anticipated
follow-up to last year's "The Code Is Red…Long Live The Code". A preview
on the album straight from the studio has just been posted online and can
now be streamed at the full story link.
Furthermore, Napalm Death vocalist Barney
Greenway reports in and gives his feedback on the recording sessions at
Foel Studios together with producer Russ Russell and engineer Chris Fielding:
It was very cool that Anneke from The Gathering offered to sing on the
album. It's really funny, because we never would have thought about having
guest vocals before the "The Code..." but every vocalist has worked very
well with the song they have contributed to. Anneke´s style is clearly
very different to that of for example Jello Biafra but what she does totally
enhances the experience. It sounds pretty spooky.

Anne
McCue N Friends |
PR reports: Anne McCue’s second album for
Messenger Records, which follows 2004’s enthusiastically received Roll,
represents an extraordinary leap made by an already impressive talent.
It goes beyond affecting songs and inspired playing and singing, and creates
its own world.
Due out September 19, the album is once
again co-produced by Dusty Wakeman (Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakam) and
McCue at mad Dog Studios in Burbank. Koala Motel finds the Australian-born,
Los Angeles-based writer/singer/guitarist surrounded by the estimable rhythm
section of bassist Wakeman and drummer Dave Raven, with keyboardist Carl
Byron completing the lineup. This group effort from four simpatico musicians
is further enhanced by strategic vocal contributions from Lucinda Williams,
John Doe, Jim Lauderdale and Heart’s Nancy Wilson (who also plays mandolin
on one track.)- Click

Riddle |
PR reports: John Ondrasik is the main member
of Five for Fighting, a band known for creating sentimental songs which
inevitably end up commemorating weddings, graduations, and anniversaries
of all kinds. This singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist is possibly
best known for his single "Superman" from the 2000 album America Town but
is also responsible for [PR was sent like this, blank here, so he is responsible
for nothing???] . John is now preparing for the release of Two Lights,
a new album of delicate, piano-driven pop instrumentals accompanied by
his signature airy vocals. The album's first single "The Riddle" is well
a composed and sweetly infectious love song and every thing you would hope
