- A Once In A Lifetime Double Bill 5-date Arena Tour starts at Sheffield
Arena, 29th March 2006
Universally hailed as the reigning king
of the blues, B.B. King, who has just recently celebrated his 80th birthday,
will commence his last ever UK tour in Sheffield on 29th March. The blues
guitar legend will team up with Gary Moore to share the once in a lifetime
double bill for what is set to be one of the most spectacular rhythm’n’blues
concert tours ever to hit UK shores. The three hour concerts will see Gary
Moore perform the first half, with the second half performance by B.B.

en grey Sell Out |
Chipster reports: Selling out two of the nation’s
most-renown clubs in less than 36 hours without so much as a CD, radio
play or even advertising support, Dir en grey has accomplished more in
two months than most bands do in a lifetime. Recently signing their first
U.S. deal with Warcon Enterprises in January, the label announced earlier
this week that the band has sold 750 tickets for the March 21st show at
the Avalon in New York City and 2,011 for the March 23rd show at LA’s Wiltern
Theatre, both of which are the band’s first U.S. performances.
Entitled Withering to Death., Dir en grey’s
CD will be released in the States May 16th yet is already one of the most-anticipated
distributed releases in WARCON history, with requests pouring in through
the band and the label’s web sites. Bob Chiappardi, president of WARCON,
says the buzz surrounding the shows and the CD release are like nothing

Relapse reports: HIGH ON FIRE are set to appear
on a brand-new episode of the hit television show Monster Garage. HIGH
ON FIRE will be performing the songs "Devilution" and "Brother in The Wind"
from their critically acclaimed album Blessed Black Wings during Monster
Garage episode #82. The episode will debut on The Discovery Channel at
8:00 pm EST on Monday, March 20 and air again at 12 midnight EST on March
21st.
The episode, titled 'The Noodler', sees
West Coast Choppers founder Jesse James and a crew of Italian-American
builders cook up the world's fastest (and only) pasta making European import.
Yes, pasta made from scratch inside an Italian sports car ready to deliver

in 1979 in Birmingham, England, then rose to prominence in the early '80s

Special Ops reports: World Party’s upcoming
studio CD release Dumbing Up – in stores May 2nd. World Party, the melodic,
sharp-witted and sophisticated UK band led by Karl Wallinger is back. The
band will be releasing Dumbing Up on Wallinger’s new label, Seaview Records.
Wallinger has also regained control of his catalog and will be re-releasing
remastered versions of Private Revolution and Goodbye umbo on April 4th,
followed by Bang! and Egyptology on June 6th. The band will hit the US
including a SXSW Paste Magazine showcase performance and a summer tour

Press Release reports: Visual Entertainment
and First Independent Pictures are proud to announce the release of the
critically acclaimed film New York Doll on DVD on April 4th, 2006. Released
in theaters in October 2005, the film is director Greg Whiteley's debut
effort and was a Grand Jury Prize Nominee at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
The film includes interviews with all the surviving New York Dolls, as
well as Morrissey, Iggy Pop, Sir Bob Geldof, Chrissy Hynde, Mick Jones
of The Clash and many others close to or influenced by the Doll's legacy.
The DVD's bonus features include the full 20-minute interview with Morrissey,
a music video of David Johansen singing a Mormon Hymn, and an interview

Cars Return, Plot Tour with Blondie |
Press Release reports: Seventeen years after
the last tour by The Cars - one of the most successful and influential
bands of the late '70s/early '80s "New Wave" era - two of its seminal members
have customized a modern model that's ready to hit the road this spring
in the form of The New Cars. Joining The Cars' original guitarist Elliot
Easton and keyboardist Greg Hawkes for Road Rage Tour 2006 Presented by
VH1 Classic, will be an all-star group of rockers: vocalist/guitarist Todd
Rundgren, fellow Utopia bassist/vocalist Kasim Sulton and former Tubes
drummer Prairie Prince.
Newly inducted Rock Roll Hall of Famers,
Blondie will ride shotgun with The New Cars, performing classics from their
new Greatest Hits- Sound Vision album (Capitol/EMI) which includes the
new hit "Rapture Riders," a mash-up of Blondie's "Rapture" and The Doors'
"Riders on the Storm." The Los Angeles Times calls it "one of the best
mash-ups ever produced." Other classics on the new CD include "Heart of
