This just goes to show that people who are mentally capable of making crap rise to the top of charts are equally capable of pushing good stuff to the bottom. THANK YOU is an awesome album of tributes to LED ZEPPELIN, THE DOORS, BOB DYLAN, SLY STONE, LOU REED etc. Granted, it has it's share of train wrecks (911 Is A Joke & I Wanna Take You Higher) but most of the stuff is beyond awesome. Worth mentioning covers are 'Crystal Ship (THE DOORS) , Thank You (LED ZEPPELIN) and Perfect Day (Lou Reed). In fact, DURAN DURAN's rendition of Crystal Ship is better than the original. Apart from a couple of ideas gone haywire, the album is a worthy listen and still finds time to spin on my CD player after 10 years. Just listen to Crystal Ship & Thank You back to back... what a trip!! The chaps over at Q magazine have truly lost it.
