Axl: GNR CD This Fall
antiMusic reports: Axl Rose made a surprise appearance on Eddie Trunk's radio show Friday night. What was supposed to be an interview with Sebastian Bach and Scott Ian about their upcoming reality show "Super Group" for Vh1 quickly turned to Axl when Bach got a text message from Rose and called him up to join the show. After a brief phone discussion they convinced Axl to join them in the studio. What followed was a lighthearted in studio interview with mostly Axl and Bach sharing fun stories of the past but Axl also discussed the plans for GNR as they play a string of sold out shows in NYC next week and then head over to Europe for some big shows. Axl did briefly discuss the forthcoming Chinese Democracy and he alluded to an autumn release and a US tour this fall as well. He also said that they have 2 and half albums worth a material almost completed and it sounds like there are definite plans for a full follow up album to Chinese Democracy that fans will not have wait ten years for. Who's in the band? Axl said that it's basically the same lineup that toured a couple years ago with a new guitarist whom he wouldn't name but he did say it WASN'T someone from the past. You can check out Blabbermouth for additional info on this interview and links to mp3s of it. Also stay tuned to the Day in Rock later this week for a very special announcement about coverage from the first NYC show on Friday. - Click Here for the Full Story

Disrespect Dimebag?
Blabbermouth reports: ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has commented on the "controversy" surrounding a recently published Internet interview with ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz in which Spitz appeared to insinuate that late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott "copied" his leads for ANTHRAX's "Stomp 442" record... In a posting on ANTHRAX's official forum (where he posts under the name "Black Thirteen"), Ian stated about the interview (which was published on the Metal-Rules.com web site), "He [Dan Spitz] claims it's bullshit. I hope it is. We are in the process of getting the tapes. Innocent until proven guilty. Truth will prevail. It has to because these statements are inexcusable. If he said it, or if this writer did just make it up, out of all of it; saying that Darrell copied the leads, taking credit away from what was unique to Darrell, that is beyond low. Disrespect Darrell's legacy? No, not on my watch."[see full story for more, Scott has a funny follow up]- Click Here for the Full Story

Tween Decapitation
Metal Blade reports: CATTLE DECAPITATION seen in malls across America! Okay well not in the sense that the band is playing in malls across America but a girls accessory store by the name of Icing (owned by Claire’s) has recently put up easels in front of store’s across the US featuring a somewhat “punk rock” looking girl sporting a Cattle Decapitation shirt. What is even more intriguing then a girl’s accessory store supporting a grind band in their store displays is the fact that particular t-shirt could only be bought off the band while on tour. So apparently Cattle Decapitation has quite the following of girls in their tweens. Who would have thunk it?!?! [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
