The Fall of The Fall of Troy
Day in Rock reports: Few people get to witness the break up of a band on stage, but Thrashpit's Anuj was on hand to watch the Fall of The Fall of Troy last month at the Basement in Columbus, Oh. The fighting wasn't reserved to the stage, a full on cat fight also took place. Here is part of Anuj's review which will go live on Thrashpit tomorrow.

The Fall of Troy began to take the stage soon after, and that's when the real drama began. First off, the guitarist/vocalist seemed miffed from the outset. After the first song, the drummer messed up on the intro to the second song, so they restarted. Midway through the song, the guitarist/vocalist FLIPPED OFF the drummer. Most of us in the crowd were wondering what was going on. Our confusion was augmented by the band's storming off-stage after barely finishing that second song. After a chaotic few minutes, the guitarist/vocalist came onstage alone and did a solo song (which I later learned was a Weezer cover). The rhythm section finally walked back on to do one song, which the guitarist/vocalist dramatically announced would be their "last song as The Fall of Troy". Many thought it was a joke, but they really did end their set after that song. We were left staring blankly at each other as the gear was hauled off-stage. [The band announced they were going on hiatus after this tour concludes]

Since we love you, you can click the full story for a sneak peak at Anuj's full report including a bit out the cat fight.

KISS Army Vs Rock Hall
BW&BK reports: The KISS Army March committee has announced the initial details surrounding the events and activities planned for Cleveland on August 5th, 2006. According to a press release, the American Cancer Society will receive 100% of the net proceeds generated by the event. The event's purpose is to change the course of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation's nomination and induction process, which has passed on KISS since they became eligible in 1999. The donation program to the American Cancer Society came about as a result of Eric Carr's passing from cancer in 1991. Brian Harman, Regional Development Director, with the American Cancer Society shared his view this way: "This is a great community event put on by the KISS Army and the funds raised will help us KISS cancer goodbye." Donations are being requested through the group's website at www.kissarmyunites.com. KISS fans are being asked to donate $1.00 to help the committee cover expenses and raise money for the American Cancer Society. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Jorn's Masterplan... Leaving the band
BW&BK reports: Due to musical differences singer JORN LANDE left MASTERPLAN last week. According to an AFM news update, during work on their new album, Lande and the remaining band members (former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch, keyboardist Axel Mackenrott and bassist Jan S. Eckert) "were having different ideas and wishes for the songwriting. While Jorn would have loved to push the style of the band more into the melodic direction, the rest of the band wanted to go back to the metal-roots of the debut album. So the decision was made to go separate ways in the future."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Jani Lane Hair Metal's Pete Doherty
Metal Sludge reports: We have been informed that Jani Lane is currently in Peoria Illinois and was scheduled to record some vocals today - but things didn't go as planned! The enclosed letter is from Aaron Duke. Aaron is the man behind the Ricky Parent benefit CD released on 34 West Records. He also was a radio industry Dj for many years. "...I show up at Noisegate studio in Pekin, Ilinois. Jani Lane is in the studio going over a song that he was supposed to know already. He continues to sing horribly (audio is available) and never even gets to the chorus before he starts an arguement with the engineer/producer/songwriter. I ask where Jani is and that I'll try to go talk to him and calm him down. I walk out back into the parking lot and Jani has a bottle of what I think was Vodka in one hand as he walks down the alley talking and muttering utter nonsense. I approach Jani and try to get him to relax. Jani decides that throwing the empty bottle at the building is a better idea than my "take some deep breaths" suggestion. I said earlier that I thought it was Vodka but the bottle was smashed into a thousand pieces so it was hard to make it out. I proceed to try to talk to Jani. I ask him what I can do to make him more comfortable and he says "Blow me" about 8 times... [it gets even stranger. For the record Aaron is also a friend of antiMusic and he's not prone to exaggeration. see full story for Aaron's full story]- Click Here for the Full Story
