A Perfect Breakup
Rockdirt reports: After Maynard James Keenan said that A Perfect Circle had been "pushed as far as it could go," MTV News spoke with guitarist Billy Howerdel about the band's status. "We don't know what's happening," said Howerdel, one of Keenan's best friends. "[Maynard and I have] talked about it lightly. A few months ago, it was like, 'If we did A Perfect Circle again, I'd want to do this or that.' It was a benign conversation. Obituary Fire
Blabbermouth reports: Vocalist John Tardy of the legendary death metallers OBITUARY has posted the following message on their official web site:

"We just finished several days of practice and got our new setlist done for our upcoming West Coast dates. It was a good to have all of us together and a few friends over for some cool ones. I have been going crazy trying to get everything together before we go. We are also all thankful that Allen [West, guitar] is OK. He recently bought a new mobile home and only after a few days the thing caught fire while he was in it. He woke up to find himself in a flame-filled, smoke-filled room and almost did not make it out. Luckily he made it out and other than losing most of his stuff he is OK! Quite scary!!! antiGUY Exposed
Day in Rock reports: Tinfoil.music thinks they have uncovered the true identity of our beloved former news editor, antiGUY. aG spoke with the site's name sake recently about all things anti, changes in the industry since antiMusic was launched and a lot more. Here is part of that interview: ? In the years you've been with antiMusic you have seen a lot of things come and go. What are some of the highlights and lowlights you've seen?

aG: That's a loaded question. Not many highlights unfortunately. I've seen the industry accelerate their self imposed downward spiral over the past decade. When you allow bean-counters to dictate the direction of art, you will always end up with the lowest common denominator. Just look at TV and what I call shitcoms. The music industry has become so much of a follow the leader and repackager that there are no leaders left and any band that could come along and shake things up like Guns N Roses and Nirvana did would never have a prayer of doing so under today's music industry business model of "sign, release and drop". It's really sad. The big irony is that we are now in an age where far more is possible. Bands can (and a few are) using new technology to reach fans directly. Podcasts, the internet etc. But every step of the way the big labels have tried to stop progress that in the end would benefit them. In the States, they are now trying to talk some Senators into passing a new copyright act that would basically outlaw podcasts (if I read the information correctly.) That's just insane. [he was getting warmed up on this rant.. click the full story link for the full interview and discover who tinfoil thinks antiGUY really is.. it's a shocker!]
