Jett Vs Butterball
Peta reports: Rock 'n' roll icon Joan Jett has a lifesaving tip about cooking a Butterball turkey this Thanksgiving: Don't do it! The Blackhearts frontwoman and longtime vegetarian has teamed up with her pals at PETA to record a special message on PETA's Holiday Hotline (1-888-VEG-FOOD) warning callers that eating turkeys is a sure recipe for cruelty-and PETA and Jett can prove it.

"Hi. This is Joan Jett from The Blackhearts for PETA," starts the message. "Workers at a Butterball plant were recently documented punching and kicking live birds, slamming them against metal trailers, and worse. Please join me in calling Butterball's Turkey Talk Line to tell their operators that there is no appropriate way to cook a tortured bird." Jett goes on to give Butterball's number and offers to send callers free vegetarian starter kits. [Peta also reportedly has footage they gave to authorities showing workers sexually assaulting turkeys no, we didn't make this up. The press release says "Another worker assaulted a hanging turkey by inserting his finger into her cloaca (vagina)." Think what you may about Peta etc but that's pretty damn sick. K-Poser Wanted Divorce
TMZ reports: TMZ has learned Kevin Federline was speaking to his lawyer about divorcing Britney Spears more than a month before she filed legal papers to end the marriage.

Sources say Federline was communicating with attorney Mark Kaplan, talking about divorcing Spears and angling to cash in on her fortune. Federline's right to money is extremely limited because of the prenup. TMZ knows the terms of the prenup, and they are not good news for K-Fed. We're told the only thing he'll get is less than 20% of the value of the couple's Malibu estate, valued at approximately $10 million, and spousal support for one year. We're told the support he'll get is less than $250,000. [that's a pretty good payday, but considering the future of his rap career he probably needs to stock up on some cash for the coming years T-minus 16 minutes see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Axl Speaks
Here Today...Gone Tomorrow / Blabbermouth reports: Guns N' Roses' manager Merck Mercuriadis and the band's lead singer Axl Rose have issued a statement in response to an overwhelming number of negative posts on the message board of the GN'R fan site Here Today Gone To Hell! regarding the cancellation of the group's Nov. 6 concert in Portland, Maine.

This is from Axl: I would like to apologise to all of the fans in Maine for the show not happening last night. It was important for us to play there and it is a shame that what should have been a great night for all of us was not possible due to the actions of two people. I agree with and ultimately take responsibility for the end decision not to jeopardise the safety of the fans, the crews, the bands and myself as a result of the methods of these particularly draconian authorities. We are not trying to get away or get out of anything or pull a fast one by combining ticket sales as has been speculated. There are reasons that I have not spoken more about Montreal and Philadelphia that have been extremely complicated and are not legally resolved behind the scenes to this day and could have possibly jeopardized the future of Guns N' Roses.

Willard Grant Conspiracy
conqueroo reports: It's no secret that the Willard Grant Conspiracy, the loosely-knit collective (several collectives, actually, but we'll get to that) from the surreal High Deserts of Southern California, is successful in Europe. So as singer/ringmaster Robert Fisher counts down the weeks to the American release of its forthcoming album, Let it Roll, the band is busily crossing the European continent.

But after the first of the year, all attention will be on winning the home turf. Let it Roll, recorded in Ljubljana, Slovenia, will be issued in the U.S. on February 27, 2007 on Dahlia Records/Reincarnate Music, distributed by Sony BMG. The album was recorded during a week-long break between dates in Italy and at Glitterhouse Records' Orange Blossom Festival celebration in Germany. Fisher produced and Janez Krisaj engineered. Tracks were assembled in Holland at Enschede's Studio Metro and mixed in New York with Charles Calello.

Bayside The Walking Wounded
punkbands reports: Bayside has begun recording their next full length and follow up to 2005's Bayside. The album, currently titled The Walking Wounded is due out in 2007 through Victory Records. Guitarist Anthony Raneri had this to say about the record:

It was kind of inevitable that one day I would get older, wiser, more successful, married etc.. and not know what to write about anymore. That time has come I guess. I feel like over the years of being depressed and lost, I learned from my mistakes. That's what the last record was about. I wanted this record to be a progression of my life the way Sirens progressed into Self Titled. I[see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story
