Ban Religion?
BBC reports: Sir Elton John has said he would like to see all organised religion banned and accused it of trying to "turn hatred towards gay people". Organised religion lacked compassion and turned people into "hateful lemmings", he told the Observer.

But the musician said he loved the idea of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the beautiful stories about it which he had learned at Sunday school. [So using his logic, Elton should be banned for his hatred of organized religion and turning people into hateful lemmings against religions? Bloc Party Hospitalized
punkbands reports: Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong suffered a collapsed lung following a concert in Atlanta on Thursday night. "Doctors at the hospital in Atlanta say Matt is in a comfortable condition and not in any danger, he will however be staying in hospital for at least the next three days for observation and it's not clear at this stage when Matt will be fit to resume performing," said a message posted Friday on the London, England band's website.

It hasn't been confirmed how Tong was stricken with the problem, but a spokeswoman for the band told Dotmusic that it may have occurred during the group's performance. "Matt is known for his energetic drumming style," she said.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

RIAA Unconstitutional?
TuneLab reports: In another RIAA sue-for-downloads case, UMG v. Lindor, the presiding judge in Brooklyn federal court has held that the defendant, Marie Lindor, can try to prove that the RIAA's claim of $750-per-song statutory damages is a violation of the Due Process Clause of the Constitution, since she has evidence that the actual wholesale price of the downloads is only 70 cents.

This decision activates an earlier ruling by the Magistrate in the case that the record labels must now turn over 'all relevant documents' regarding the prices at which they sell legal downloads to online retailers. The judge rejected the RIAA's claim that the defense was frivolous, pointing out that the RIAA had cited no authorities contradicting the defense, but Ms. Lindor's attorneys had cited cases and law review articles indicating that it was a valid defense.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
