Darkness Lose Singer
KNAC reports: Singer Justin Hawkins has left British glam-revival band The Darkness to continue his drug rehabilitation and work on a solo album, telling the Sun newspaper Wednesday that "it's time for me to move on."

He added: "It would be damaging to my recovery to stay on. I'm not blaming the band for my problem -- I am an addict." [the band has reportedly been dropped by their label as well - see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

RockStars Fired
TMZ reports: Magni and Storm Large, two finalists in the top 5 on the CBS reality show "Rockstar: Supernova," have been essentially fired from the opening act on the upcoming Rockstar Supernova tour.

With a tour scheduled to begin on New Year's Eve in Vegas, the bill's opening act was to include The Panic Channel, host Dave Navarro's latest band, as well as, fellow contestants Toby Rand, Dilana, Magni, Storm Large and the program's House Band.

But now TMZ has learned that due to financial reasons Magni, Storm Large and the House Band have been kicked off the tour. Toby and Dilana are still on board (thank God!), but will now be backed by Toby Rand's Australian group Juke Kartel. Evs! [looks like the tour lived up to the band name and supernova'd before it even began! See full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Metal Treason
blabbermouth.net reports: The Associated Press reports that American al-Qaida spokesman Adam Yahiye Gadahn (also known as "Azzam the American") - a U.S. citizen from Southern California who wrote in a web posting that he was obsessed for a time with "demonic heavy metal music" before moving to Orange County and discovering the Islamic faith - was indicted Wednesday on the first treason charge filed in more than 50 years.

Adam Yehiye Gadahn, 28 - who is believed to be in or near Pakistan - could be sentenced to death if convicted of the charge. He also was indicted on a charge of providing material support to terrorists. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

From Roadie to Pages
TMZ reports: Now that Mark Foley's found "one way out" of Congress -- by allegedly sending salacious messages to teenage pages -- maybe he can get one of his old jobs back, as a ramblin' man for the Allman Brothers Band.

It turns out that Foley, the disgraced former congressman from Florida, once served as an "honorary" gear-hauler for the perpetually on-tour Allman Brothers in the early 90s, when he was a state senator in Florida. Foley described the experience in an interview as "wild" and "crazy." What's more, that particular job helped him become buddies with late Rep. Sonny Bono and led to his taking over the House's Entertainment Task Force after Bono's death. Foley was friends with Allman drummer Butch Trucks, and, in his former job as a realtor, once sold a house to former Allman guitarist Dickey Betts. He ended up meeting Cher and then Sonny through Cher's ex-husband Gregg Allman. [maybe he can hook up with Jacko? See full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

China Bans Jay-Z
hecklerspray reports: You would have thought that China would currently be a bit more worried about its nutjob next-door neighbour letting off nuclear bombs than a man in a tracksuit mumbling over a song from Annie, but you'd be wrong.

For one reason or another, Jay-Z decided that he'd announce the end of his hopeless retirement by playing a concert in Shanghai. After all, China is the most exciting country in the world at the moment - and Shanghai its best city - and the thought of the 1.3 billion potential album sales might have appealed to a businessman like Jay-Z. However, it wasn't to be; Jay-Z has been banned from playing in China. Ostensibly this is because the Chinese government has deemed Jay-Z's lyrics to be too vulgar, although there's also a possibility that they heard the news that there was a Jay-Z/ Coldplay duet on his new album and banned him for obviously having something wrong with his brain.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Megadeth Management Shakeup
KNAC reports: Megadeth leader, Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the Forums section of the band's official website:

..I had to change managers, which really hurt because I loved my relationship with Kevin Gasser. What a great and classy guy. And whilst that had gone down, I also went back to my attorney Gary Gilbert, only to get an email right before going on-stage that our US agent resigned because he basically was of the opinion I am wrong. To Keith I would like to send my gratitude and blessing for his lovely wife and child, just as I would Kevin Gasser.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
