2&2: Mikey Doling of Snot/Soulfly
antiMusic reports: This week we speak with Mikey Doling of Snot / Soulfly fame about his brand new label, new band and more.

2&2: Congrats on the new label (GridIron Records), can you tell us about who is involved and what inspired you to start the label? * Mikey: I was in a band in the 90s called SNOT...and then after that I was in SOULFLY...We (soulfly) we're touring with the mighty PANTERA in 2001...We were in New Orleans after the show hanging on the bus drinking beers and on walks KYLE YURLEY at the time he was playing for The Saints....He asked who the guy from Snot was, I said," me!!", and turns out he was a big SNOT fan!! From there we were bros!! Kyle was ended up living in LA in 2004..so he'd come hang out at the studio where I was producing a lot of local bands at the time...he'd always say, "Mikey, we should start our own record company." I was scared to death because that's a major responsibility. He kept bringing it up about it and I was going out in LA and seeing a lot of young bands out there, and all of the sudden it hit me!! So I called Kyle and I said," LETS DO THIS!!"

2&2: We'll get to the other releases next but let's talk about your new band, INVITRO. Can you tell us a little bit about the band, who's in it and what kind of music you guys play? When's the album coming out? Think you'll tour behind it? * Mikey: I started my new band INVITRO; who's four of the coolest and most talented musicians I could've possibly found. The guitar player, Mike Piggmie and drummer, Benny Cancino were in a band together called, The Wizards. I was a big fan of theirs, so I asked them to start a new band with me along with bass player, Brad Dujmovic and singer, J Vipers. We started jamming together and there was a instant chemistry. Since then it's been a 2 years and now we're recording a debut album coming out in 2007. [check out the full interview at the full story link] - Click Here for the Full Story

When Rockstars Attack
earvolution.com reports: While reports have differed slightly, it does appear that at Wilco's show this past Monday at the Shrine Mosque in Springfield, MO an overly excited fan surprised guitarist Jeff Tweedy by approaching him from behind causing the skittish Tweedy to turn and clock the interloper in the face. After being buried in various on-line outlets, Wilco defended themselves with an official statement on their site.

In short, the band cited their own decision to remove a barricade between themselves and the audience as well as lax security as underlying causes of the unfortunate incident. "I really regret what happened last night," said Tweedy.[see full story for a lot more]- Click Here for the Full Story
