Rancid
Seizure |
punkbands reports: Lars Frederiksen collapsed
during Thursday night's Rancid show in Montreal. punknews.org ran the following
account... : "About halfway through the show Frederiksen suddenly collapsed
while the band was performing the song "7 years down" from their Let's
go album. The band was playing and then suddenly stopped when guitarist/vocalist
Lars Fredrikssen fainted. Guitarist/vocalist Tim Armstrong and bassist/vocalist
Matt Freeman rushed to their bandmate lying on stage, looking very preoccupied.
After a couple of minutes, Fredrikssen
was helped off stage by bandmembers and roadies. The crowd anxiously awaited
news from the band for about 15-20 minutes. Tim and Matt came back on stage
to announce Fredrikssen had suffered a seizure and was hurried to a Montreal
hospital. They also told the crowd that the band would come back to play
another gig pretty much as soon as Fredrikssen would be back and healthy."[see

Raised
Fist Injury |
punkbands reports: Due to an injury, Sweden's
Raised Fist has cancelled both their Italian and Canadian tours. The band's
management had this to say: We are very sad to let you know that Raised
Fist will have to cancel their shows in Italy and Canada. Alle, the singer,
has injured his rib-bone while practicing thaiboxing. As you all know a
broken rib isn't' something you can perform outrageous HC shows in true
RF manner with.
The band is of course very sorry about
this but that's the fact. They really hope to get the chance to visit Italy
again in the near future. The Canadian shows will be re-scheduled, new
dates will be announced ASAP[see full story for more]-

MySpace
Music Store |
music.tinfoil reports: MySpace, the wildly
popular online teen hangout, said on Friday it will make its first move
into the digital music business by selling songs from nearly 3 million
unsigned bands.
Songs can be sold on the bands' MySpace
pages and on fan pages, in non-copyright-protected MP3 digital file format,
which works on most digital players including Apple's market-dominating
iPod. The bands will decide how much to charge per song after including
MySpace's distribution fee, said Rusty Rueff, the chief executive of Snocap,
which will manage the e-commerce service. Snocap provides digital licensing
and copyright management services and was started by Napster founder Shawn
Fanning.[see full story for more]- Click

Isley
Tax Prison |
antiMusic reports: Isley Brothers frontman
Ronald Isley has been sentenced to three years and one month in prison
for tax evasion. The court also ordered him to pay $3.1 million in back
taxes.
Isley was convicted last year for willful
failure to file a tax return and five counts of tax evasion. Isley's attorney
tried to convince the judge during the sentencing hearing to give the singer
probation because of Isley's poor health due to a recent battle with kidney
cancer and a stroke. U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson reportedly instead
followed federal sentencing guidelines when handing down the sentence and
there is speculation that Isley will be sent to a prison hospital facility.

MSG
finished |
KNAC reports: In late August, it was announced
at Michael Schneker's official website that "due to the serious familiar
(sic) problems of MSG singer Jari Tiura" the band has bumped their planned
U.S. tour to 2007.
Tiura: " The Sun Will Shine. New album
title? Take care and turn this all into music. Be strong!"
Schenker: " I have quit playing.
.How
can I be strong after you decide not to continue with the rest of the tour.
I have given you the chance to be on the most important album of MSG. You
canceled US after I have put all my money into this project. This is an
insult. I am tired of changing musicians and singers. MSG is finished and
I am not inspired anymore. The sun will shine? What sun are you talking
about? What next album are you talking about? You fucked me and went your
way. The sun is not selfish."[see full story for more]-
