Fiddy
Vs Diddy |
MTV reports: 50 Cent's frustration at trying
to move Bad Boy recording artist Mase over to G-Unit has apparently come
to a head over the past few days. Last week, Fif leaked a dis record going
at Diddy called "Hip-Hop," which finds him rapping over the track for Dead
Prez's song of the same name. In it, the G-Unit general levels some unfounded
accusations at Diddy.
"Who shot Biggie Smalls?/ [If] we don't
get them, they gonna kill us all," 50 raps. "Man, Puffy know who hit that
n---a man, that n---a's soft

Who
Let This Dog Out? Paris Punk'd |
Guardian reports: Fans of Paris Hilton could
be in for a surprise when they purchase her album: guerrilla artist Banksy
has doctored hundreds of copies of the socialite-turned-singer's debut
CD and smuggled them into record shops around the [UK].
At first glance, the tampered copies appear
similar to the originals, but closer investigation reveals that the cover
photograph has been amended so that Hilton appears topless. [an inside
photo reportedly has Paris' head replaced by a dog's] A sticker promises
such hits as Why Am I Famous? and What Have I Done?, while each page of
the booklet is illuminated by an ironic slogan. [The cds were replaced
by CDRs with remixes of Paris interviews and is credited to DM, some are
speculating that it could be Danger Mouse. Even funnier is the fact that
a leading retailer in the UK says that not one person that mistakenly purchased
this version has returned it. Then again the CD isn't exactly flying off
of the shelves in UK record stores. See the full story for a little more
on this story and to see a photo of the punk'd cover next to the authentic
crap one] - Click

Maiden
Vs Clear Channel |
blabbermouth.net reports: The Spanish edition
of Metal Hammer magazine recently conducted an interview with IRON MAIDEN
bassist Steve Harris. [on part of the problems that led to the Ozzfest
'egging' incident:
Steve: "Whenever we go to the USA, Bruce
is very vocal in those things because there are things completely wrong
in that country. The fans are great and loyal and I feel sorry they understand
the message in a wrong way and think that we do not enjoy playing in the
USA. The problem is with the venues. They sell the front-row tickets to
people that do not even care for the band. The real fans are in the 20th
row and the people from the front rows have been invited or have the money
to get those seats and sit there eating fucking fried chicken. Imagine
playing in front of those people. You get really upset!
Q: The problem is that most venues are
owned by Clear Channel and one cannot fight against the elements.
Steve: "One can, and we will. We will see
what happens." [he has some choice words for MTV and $haron as well, check

Mercury
Prize Announced |
hecklerspray reports: Well now there's a surprise.
After two whole weeks of us painstakingly listing and comparing the chances
of the 2006 Mercury Prize contenders, Arctic Monkeys - the favourites -
have only gone and won it.
Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm
Not by Arctic Monkeys ended up winning the Mercury Prize, just like everyone
thought they would, and how were we rewarded? By listening to a bunch of
mumbled Northern half-sentences that lasted for about two and a half minutes.
Still, at least by winning the Mercury Prize, Arctic Monkeys have ensured
that they'll never sell another record for the rest of their careers.[see

Roth.

a song especially for Abernathy, giving the little girl the rock-star treatment
in the heart-rending tune.
"Who deals the cards? Ashley Abernathy,"
Roth sang. "Who steals your heart? Ashley Abernathy. Ashley Abernathy makes

Mayhem
Vs Poland |
SMN reports: MAYHEM vocalist Attila Csihar
has issued the following statement regarding the group's ban from performing
in Poland: A fascist-religious government in Europe hides behind its democratic
façade! Some time ago, MAYHEM was set to play in Poland. And we
were very excited to deliver a great show to our Polish fans! The Polish
government didn't warn us of any requirements, rules or guidelines in advance.
So, thinking that all the details were taken care of, we set out with all
our equipment and our entire stage set. One day before the show however
we were informed that the Polish government had banned us from playing
the country! And without any official statement or explanation!
When we looked into the situation, we saw
that many Polish newspapers claimed that this action was merely based in
politics as it was close to the next Polish elections. It seems that politics
and religion are very strongly interlocked in the country. Could this be
a new form of religious dictatorship and inquisition? [he's just getting
warmed up, click the full story to read more]- Click
