own cheese. You read that correctly... he is going to try his hand at entering
the world of independent cheese making.
In a recent column from The Independent,
he said: "The more I think about cheese the more I like it and the more
I want some, which is why I'm taking matters into my own hands and venturing

Cool
& Collected |
PR reports: Boost your cool factor with the
Miles Davis new release, Cool & Collected, in stores NOW!! Celebrating
his 80th birthday and his recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall
of Fame, this single disc collection is a perfect distillation of Miles
Davis and his cool world. For the past half-century, when the subject turns
to the simple question, "What defines 'cool'?" there has always been one
perfect answer: Miles Davis. Beyond his defiant stance, his piercing glare,
his amorous conquests and those one-of-a-kind Issey Miyake fashion statements
- there was and always will be the music of Miles Davis. Cool & Collected
is the first single CD anthology to zero in on a baker's dozen of the recordings
which created the swirling mythos of 'cool' that defines Miles, spanning
1956 to 1984, with a new previously unreleased bonus remix track to close
the program. - Click

Penelope
Jones Debut |
audibletreats.com reports: St. Louis emcee
Penelope Jones is putting the finishing touches on her debut album. As
yet untitled, the album is slated for release on November 7th on Universal
Motown Records. Penelope enlisted two high-profile collaborators for the
lead singles of the album; Lil Wayne on "Miss Me With That Foolishness"
and Mya on the R&B tinged "No Matter What They Say"".
Although only 24 years old, Penelope's
debut has been in the works for a long time. Penelope's love for hip-hop
began as an adolescent as she performed gospel raps in her church. By her
early teens she found herself recording her first demo with The Crew From
The Lou, and later opening for the likes of 2Pac and Ice Cube, whenever
they came through her town. In 2000, as Nelly was reaching superstardom,
Penelope recorded "Jang-A-Lang" with the St. Lunatics and began recording
for her own solo debut. [check out "No Matter What They Say" feat. Mya

The Gothic Archies' The Tragic Treasury: Songs From a Series of Unfortunate

Treasury: Songs from a Series of Unfortunate Events collects these thirteen
gloomy and hilarious songs, plus two bonus tracks, including a depressingly
upbeat theme song, "We Are the Gothic Archies". Merritt wrote and recorded
all the music, with accordion by Lemony Snicket. The Tragic Treasury will

baby girl of MTV and music legend Joseph "Reverend Run" Simmons died yesterday
at a hospital in Ridgewood, N.J.
Rev. Run issued the following statement
about the tragic death of his daughter to the Associated Press: "On Sept.
26, 2006, Victoria Anne Simmons for some unknown reason chose to come early
and unfortunately did not survive," his statement said. "We must accept
whatever is there and once you accept unconditionally, then everything

Biscuits Live CD |
PR reports: The Disco Biscuits and Diamond
Riggs Records newest live release, Rocket 3, is the entire third set of
the Biscuits 2004 New Years Eve performance in New York City. Highly regarded
by both the fans and the band alike, this limited-edition three song collection
is as much a nod to the past as it is a glimpse into the future. Featuring
an awe-inspiring 30 minute version of "Magellan" and a "Frog Legs" that
segues nicely into the second half of "Crickets", this CD is most certainly
all about the improvisation. As a bonus, the "Hope" encore is included
on the CD. These tracks, originally considered for release on the April
2006 double live album The Wind at Four to Fly (Diamond Riggs Records /
SCI Fidelity) were moved to the cutting room floor when it was decided
that a 70 minute 2 and a 1/2 song CD would not be well received at retail.
However, the CD has received new life as a result of the many requests
from Disco Biscuits fans that this be released in the crystal clear quality
that can be expected of all Diamond Riggs live CD's.[see full story for
