Habitat For Green Day
punkbands reports: Billie Joe and family are currently in New Orleans volunteering their time to Habitat For Humanity. Each day they are going to send Greenday an update with pictures of how their day went. Billie Joe writes: Today we worked at the upper 9th ward. I hung soffit over the front porch. I had to do some upside down hammering technique but we managed to get the job done.

We felt a great sense of accomplishment when we finished. Before I nailed the last piece of soffit , I reached inside and wrote my name with a pencil and dated it.. Ben is a great construction leader. Jason was a great partner.. It was amazing to see everyone getting their hands dirty in good conscience, working together for the greater good. Nada Surf Reissue
PR reports: If you're not familiar with Nada Surf, you haven't been paying attention to your indie-rock lately. Having released 4 full-length albums over the course of a decade, a live collection, & numerous singles, Nada Surf has managed to survive the wonder of their one big hit, build an estimable army of loyal fans around the world, and thrive through the commitment to the craft of making pop music that's indelible, warm, and uniquely their own. However, until now, there's been one piece of their history missing for the better part of a decade- The Karmic EP.

Before their major label signing to Elektra for the Ric Ocasek produced High/Low CD, the band released a 5 song EP chock full of indie-pop gems with catchy guitar hooks and sharp lyrics. Hi-Speed Soul Records is proud to re-release the Karmic EP- the album that started it all. This Karmic re-release will hit stores 6/12/07 and includes a bonus track called "Pressure Free", only previously available on an out of print 7". Amber Pacific Set Release
PR reports: Amber Pacific's new record Truth In Sincerity is set for a May 22nd release date on Hopeless Records. Heralded by Alternative Press as one of the most anticipated albums of 2007 the five-year-old band has remained true to its sound, foregoing to jump on any pop-punk bandwagons. But the band's maturation is obvious, enough so that they teamed up with the Seattle Symphony who played strings on much of the album. With a significant fanbase already in place (the band's 2005 debut full length The Possibility And The Promise has scanned almost 70,000 units), Amber Pacific are poised to breakout in 2007!

It's a well-crafted record by a band that is confident in their sound and ability. No shenanigans, no gimmicks. They're not necessary. Look for Amber Pacific to be on the entire Vans Warped Tour this summer.

Eilen Jewell's Letters From Sinners and Stranger
PR reports: Once in a great while, you put on a CD by an artist you've never heard of before and time stops. The voice is new, yet timeless. The lyrics are all original yet feel immediately familiar, lived-in, knowing. And the melodies expertly performed by a first-rate band carry the easy groove.

This is the story of Eilen (rhymes with feelin') Jewell, as she prepares to release her national debut album Letters From Sinners and Strangers on Signature Sounds on July 10.

It started after her 2005 self-released debut Boundary Country CD made its way into club-owners' hands, onto a handful of radio shows and around the press circles of Boston, her current home base. Reaction to Eilen's music 12 original songs from the Boise-born 27-year-old singer was swift. Many compared her talents to those of Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and June Carter Cash.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Bloodhorse Ink with Translation Loss
PR reports: Translation Loss Records are pleased to announce one of their newest signings, Boston-Massachusetts' BLOODHORSE! Consisting of Alex Garcia-Rivera [drums], Matt Woods [bass + vocals], and Adam Wentworth [guitar + vocals], BLOODHORSE formed at the tail-end of 2004 as an informal avenue of keeping busy during the down time of their respective bands. The following year would see the band become their main focus as previous obligations disbanded or disintegrated, and the core of their early material would be realized. Though a relatively new group, the members of BLOODHORSE have spent the last decade touring and releasing records with an expansive collective resume that includes 454 Big Block, Shelter, The Red Chord, Saves The Day, American Nightmare and Premonitions Of War. However, BLOODHORSE dispel any notion of prior band affiliation with the bastardized wall of sound delivered on their upcoming Translation Loss debut "EP" that pays homage to the likes of Deep Purple and The Who while fusing contemporary elements from bands like Entombed and Saint Vitus.
BLOODHORSE's Translation Loss Records debut release, "EP," was recorded solely by the band, mastered at M-Works in Massachusetts and will see a mid summer 2007 release. Clocking in at about 37 minutes, "EP" will floor the rock and metal community with its sheer abrasive nature and nods to the old guard. You can listen to tracks from the forthcoming release on the band's Myspace page- Click Here for the Full Story

New Atlantic CD Release Show and More
PR reports: This past Tuesday New Atlantic's first Eyeball Records full length, "The Streets, The Sound, And The Love" officially hit the public shelves. It seems the future's open wide for these young New Jersey power poppers. Within the past month the band has had one of their new videos voted #1 on Fuse's Oven Fresh program as well as MTVU's The Freshmen program. Furthermore, they've also confirmed a slot on a national May/June tour with The Audition, All Time Low, and The Graduate. An expose of hook-line-sinker craftsmanship, "The Streets, The Sound, And The Love" is a slick, addictive, and impressive work. Evidently, New Atlantic is rapidly securing their place amongst cream of the pop crop.

Pick up the CD and then see them live at the following stops: Apr 19 - [CD RELEASE SHOW] @ First Unitarian Church - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Apr 26 - Revolution - Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Apr 28 - Rocketown Nashville, Tennessee[see full story for more dates]- Click Here for the Full Story
