Anti-Flag Murder
punkbands reports: Anti-Flag And Chris #2's Family Tragedy - Sister Murdered. A few days ago, Chris #2's sister and boyfriend were murdered. Chris writes: "Thank you all for the kind words. Thank you to everyone surrounding us on the last tour for their help. I want to specifically thank my three brothers in Anti-Flag and everyone in our crew for helping me and dropping everything to get me home and with my family immediately.

For those not completely in the know, my sister and her boyfriend were murdered a few days ago. Of all the people I know my sister was the most proud of our band. If you live in the Pittsburgh area you may have met her, it was not uncommon for her to strike up a conversation with anyone wearing an Anti-Flag pin, patch, or t-shirt. She was anxious to meet anyone who was a member of the community. My sister had two beautiful children, who I'm sure will be just as curious and just as loving.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

James Brown Rape Appeal
pr-inside reports: JAMES BROWN's former assistant has won the opportunity to sue for a slice of the late soul star's fortune after claiming he raped her at gunpoint in 1988.

JACQUE HOLLANDER's shocking claims were thrown out of court in Chicago, Illinois last year (06) after a judge ruled she had waited too long to make the charges, but now the US Supreme Court will hear the case after her lawyers appealed the decision.

Hollander insists she waited for years to bring rape charges against Brown because she was terrified of her former boss, who died on Christmas Day (25DEC06).[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Metallica Toss Pots For Real Producer
Blabbermouth reports: Legendary producer Rick Rubin (SLAYER, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, AUDIOSLAVE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), who was named "Producer of the Year" at this past weekend's Grammy Awards, spoke to MTV.com about his work with METALLICA on their much-anticipated follow-up to 2003's "St. Anger", tentatively due before the end of the year via Warner Bros.

"I saw [the warts-and-all METALLICA documentary 'Some Kind of Monster'], and it made me really nervous," Rubin said. "Then we started working, and it's the opposite direction of that. They're really productive, really communicative it seems like they really like being in the room together. It's a great process. They say they're more excited than they have been in a long time about making music. We're going to start recording in March. I asked them not to reinvent themselves so much as to make a defining album, like the purest of what METALLICA is. That's the aim, so we'll see what happens."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Jesus In The Middle of Estate Battle
AP reports: The children of a hit country music songwriter won't get control of his estate, a judge ruled, but a bigger battle looms between them and their aunt, an evangelist with a worldwide ministry.

Darrell "Wayne" Perry's four children have sued their aunt Darlene Bishop, saying she hastened her brother's death by promising to use prayer to cure the throat cancer that killed him and discouraging him from receiving medical treatment. Separately, a judge on Monday rejected their request to remove their aunt as executor of the estate and replace her with one of Perry's sons.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

MTV Clarify Bloodbath
CMJ reports: Looks like this game of cyber-gossip telephone might have gotten its wires tangled. Numerous websites have reported, via anonymous sources, that layoffs at MTV Networks went beyond the 250 announced on Tuesday. Some of those sites have definitively stated that hallmark MTV programming like Total Request Live and perhaps even whole satellite channels, like MTV2 and VH1 Classic, were nixed entirely.

Not so, according to network brass. "There is no truth to the rumors about TRL, MTV2 and VH1 Classic going away," states David Bittler, a spokesperson for MTV Networks. "Some of the staff have been let go from positions within those networks, but those networks will continue. [the bad news is that short attention span theatre aka TRL will continue to entertain tweens with subpar music see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
