Jackson 5 Reunion?
Idolator.com reports: Everybody's getting back together this year: The Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, the Spice Girls--heck, even Al Qaeda has reassembled to put on a bunch of secret shows throughout Pakistan. So it was only a matter of time before Michael, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie, Randy and Squiggy decided to cash in on the craze: I'm told that Michael reluctantly met with his siblings on Monday in Las Vegas. Sisters Janet and Rebbie, as well as Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, Tito and Jackie, all knocked on Jackson's Las Vegas door around 7:30 p.m. Nanny Grace Rwaramba, who runs the door, made them wait between 30 and 60 minutes before allowing the brood in.

What was discussed was the family's financial situation and the fact that Jackson has so far been unable to get work in Vegas. Sources say concert promoter Leonard Rowe of Atlanta, who worked with the Jacksons in the 1980s, was there and made a proposal: a family tour with all members...[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Communism Killed Audioslave?
TuneLab reports: Sources tell The New York Post that Chris Cornell's move to quit Audioslave came down to money.

"Chris was unhappy with the financial arrangement within the group - he wrote all the music, yet the other three bandmates took an equal share in the multimillion-dollar publishing rights," a Cornell pal explained. [See full story for more breaking rock news But it's pretty funny how the key problem with communism was exposed using capitalism. Chris not being a communist, must not have understood or he would have let the others do the work while he'd still make the same amount of money.]

Super Bowl Boss?
Idolator.com reports: The NFL is apparently figuring that there's only one way to top this year's completely epic performance by Prince at this year's Super Bowl, and that's to bring in The Boss. From Variety:

Bruce Springsteen and Norah Jones are at the top of the list. The NFL is hoping the recent successes of Prince, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney can be used as leverage to bring in the Boss while Jones would be ideal to sing the National Anthem during the pregame ceremonies, according to NFL VP of programming Charles Coplin.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Accident Kills As Blood Runs Black Tour
Lambgoat reports: As Blood Runs Black has dropped off the remainder of their tour with Sworn Enemy, Kataklysm, etc. due to a van accident. Here's a statement from the band:

"On Saturday Febuary 24th at approximately 4:30pm ABRB took a life threatning spill. We hit black ice/slush and spun out of control across the highway in the Oregon Mountains. The trailer fish-tailed forcing the van to go in the direction toward the edge of the mountain. We hit like 4 feet of snow forcing us to do a full 180 and down the side of the mountain we go before this tree luckily stopped us from falling to our deaths. We are all blessed to be ALIVE. Despite the accident we somehow still managed to get to our show that night and still played for our fans. Everyone as well as our trailer is OK. Our van is not in any condition to drive and now are forced to cancel the rest of our tour. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

MTV Kills The Video Stars?
altmusictv reports: altmusictv has learned MTV2 is abandoning the concept of VJ-hosted shows, opting instead for a straight-up video block format.

Subterranean, Headbangers Ball, Sucker Free, and all surviving music shows on the network will drop their hosts, voiceovers, and guests. Essentially, this means Subterranean as we know it is gone. This week's episode from the PLUG awards will be the last one with the usual format. Subsequent episodes apparently will not feature host Jim Shearer or bands at all.

I was told these changes are being made "for the forseeable future," but I'm guessing we'll never see a VJ on MTV2's music shows again. I'd say this is MTV2's way of phasing out its music shows entirely. We're witnessing the end of over 25 years of the VJ concept on MTV. [see
