Ellison Comment on Victory Lawsuit
punkbands reports: Ellison responds to the lawsuit filed by Victory Records against Carbon Copy Media. Here it was it stares: In reaction to this lawsuit we just want to set the record straight. Over the past year both JT and Mark have become very close personal friends, and we owe our careers to this point to their hard work. It was very unfortunate that the Hawthorne Heights law suit was filed less than three weeks before our debut release "Say Goodnight, Sleep Alone". It's impossible to tell whether that had any effect on our band thus far.

Victory's claim that "the Defendants actions have likely destroyed their careers" is NOT TRUE AT ALL. The only thing that could ruin our career is if we gave up.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

AM at Sundance
PR reports: AM will be performing at Sundance Film Festival Saturday, January 20th, 2007 at the Celsius Lounge 625 Main street, Park City, Utah 84060 as part of the Hotel Café showcase. All 10 songs from AM's debut album Troubled Times were placed in film and television shows (26 song placements to date) including HBO's 'Big Love"', MTV's 'Real World', and ABC's 'What About Brian'-all before singer/ songwriter AM released his debut album into record stores just two months ago on October 31, 2006 on Defend Music. Itunes named AM's debut album Troubled Times in their category for "Best Indie Album of the Year".

From the opening seconds of Troubled Times, you'll hear a compelling blend of rock, Alt-Americana, and eclectic pop which lends to the unique quality of AM's sound. AM recently completed a stint of Northeast dates with singer/songwriter Rhett Miller, opened a sold out show for the famed rockers Better Than Ezra, as well as country sensation, The Wreckers (Michelle Branch), and performed on the main stage in his home town of New Orleans at the Voodoo Music Festival with The Flaming Lips.- Click Here for the Full Story

Eleni Mandell's Miracle Of Five
Filter reports: Once known for her ties to Tom Waits and classic punk rockers X, LA-based chanteuse Eleni Mandell has been getting love from fans and critics alike, including Los Angeles magazine's Best Local Singer nod in 2004, ever since her self-financed debut full-length in 1999. Her latest effort, Miracle Of Five, to be released via Zedtone Records on February 6th, showcases Mandell's classic American influences in songwriting and performance, calling to mind Dylan's storytelling with Ella Fitzgerald's haunting delivery.

Mandell assembled a talented group to help bring her songs to life, including Wilco lead guitarist Nels Cline and keyboardist Andy Kaulkin (Merle Haggard), who also produced. Stand out tracks like daydream-esque "Girls," the jazz-heavy soulful tune "My Twin" and simple waltz "Wings In His Eyes" show an amount of heart and elegance almost unheard of in modern music. Catch one of her upcoming shows with multi-instrumentalist Erin McKeown. [see full story for dates]- Click Here for the Full Story
