K Fed Super Bowl Ad
TMZ reports: Although you won't be seeing Britney's face during the Super Bowl halftime show, her soon to be ex-husband Kevin Federline is set to star in his own commercial.

Nationwide Insurance has hired Federline to star in one of their ads, set to run during some of the most expensive airtime on television. Although we're not exactly sure what talent (and we use the term loosely) K-Fed is going to be showcasing -- but if his commercial is anything like past spokespersons, such as Fabio or MC Hammer -- Kevin will definitely be making fun of himself.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Introducing Joss Stone
PR reports: British soul singer and songwriter Joss Stone will release her third album, Introducing Joss Stone, on March 20th on Virgin Records. An electrifying mix of warm vintage soul, '70s-style R&B, Motown girl-group harmonies, and hip-hop grooves, the album is the one that Stone describes as "truly me. That's why I'm calling it Introducing Joss Stone," she says. "These are my words, and this is who I am as an artist."

Knowing she wanted to write the album alone, Stone decamped to Barbados in April to come up with lyrics. She stayed for several months before flying to the Bahamas to hook up with her main musical collaborator and producer Raphael Saadiq (known for his work with D'Angelo, The Roots, and Macy Gray). "Raphael [who plays bass on the album] is the most incredible musician I've ever met in my whole life," Stone says. "Musically, I feel like he reads my mind. I'll give him a look and he'll know exactly what I want." Stone and Saadiq spent two months recording in the Bahamas, and then mixed it at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Artists Vs MySpace
PR reports: Solo artist Fionn O Lochlainn boasts a love-hate relationship with the world's fastest growing online community, Myspace.com. Recent complaints by his management team, Sincere USA to the company further compound recent sentiments made by over artists' proprietary rights. "My client has been locked out of his Myspace account for almost two months with no recourse or help from Myspace, despite our numerous attempts to contact them," comments Sue-Ellen Stroum for Sincere USA.

This is not the first time a Sincere artist has encountered trouble with the online community. In an article that appeared in Music Week last June, Billy Bragg wrote an open letter to generate discussion on Myspace's Proprietary Rights in Content Clause, one that has since been lifted to protect the interests of artists everywhere. "What is at stake here is the ownership of rights. In the past, when I wrote a song, I needed a record company to manufacture, market and distribute my work and, in exchange for that, they expected to own the rights to exploit my recordings for as long as the material was capable of earning royalties--"life of copyright" in legalese-- which currently means 50 years. If that is the case, then they need to make explicit in their terms of agreement that the material posted on the site belongs to the artists and that they, not MySpace, have the sole right to exploit their work in any way they see fit," said Bragg.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Eat Lordi
PR reports: Mr. Lordi, frontman for Finnish monster hard rock act LORDI, has been keeping busy in 2007 with both the upcoming release of 'The Arockalypse' in North America on March 20th, 2007 (on THE END RECORDS) and the new LORDI-themed restaurant, 'Lordi's Rocktaurant', that opened December 15th, 2006 in Rovaniemi, Finland. "Everything on the menu that is related to Lordi is our own ideas. Like everything with this band, we always have our hands on all projects," states Mr. Lordi. "I opened the restaurant with my childhood friend (Arto Koivuharju). My friend used to run a restaurant and he wanted to open another restaurant. He asked me about an idea and I suggested the Lordi-themed restaurant. Everything we start working on seems to get bigger and bigger. We wanted to open in restaurant earlier in the summer but the whole concept just grew and we finally opened it last month. It is a unique place, especially from a European point of view."

He adds, "I like the Ox item - the rare beef with chocolate chili sauce and sesame seeds over bull steak. People can order it medium, but I like my steaks rare." With the Lord-themed entrees and memorabilia lining the restaurant's walls it appears the restaurant is doing pretty good business having only been open a month.- Click Here for the Full Story

Totally F**king Destruction
PR reports: Translation Loss Records is proud to announce the signing of Philadelphia's TOTAL F**KING DESTRUCTION! TFD's Translation Loss Records debut entitled, ZEN AND THE ART OF TOTAL F**KING DESTRUCTION, will be released sometime this spring. The band was founded by BRUTAL TRUTH's very own drummer/vocalist/performance artist, Richard Hoak, and is rounded out by Herzog- total f**King guitar, Joe- total f**King bass and Pingdum- total f**King f**K you guitar.

With grind on the mind and destruction boiling in their veins, TFD has taken grind to a whole new level with an extremely unique album that consists of three parts: Part 1 is a proper grinding, metallic and perversely catchy batch of songs. Recorded at Super 8 Studios [Slacks, Quips, Zodiak] and mixed by Dan O'Hare. Part 2 is an acoustic monster all in itself, beautifully recorded by the band in their total f**King house. Completely different from anything heard in grind today. Part 3 is enhanced CD content that contains Live from Hazel's, a legendary live performance recorded in the bowels of Philadelphia. Abdul Sort Of Explains Drunken Behavior
TMZ reports: In one of her more or less coherent moments, Paula Abdul defended her wacky appearance on a Seattle morning show last week.

A calm and collected Abdul told Ellen DeGeneres that there were "two cities in my ear...I'm answering Birmingham answers but it's airing in Seattle's morning show, so it looked like I was just in my own little world." Her constant slurring and giggles were apparently meant for Alabama and not Washington.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Roky Erickson Stomp
conqueroo reports: Roky Erickson's biggest hit, "You're Gonna Miss Me," with his band the 13th Floor Elevators, only reached No. 56 on the national pop chart, yet the lyrics and music composed by this reclusive - and at times mysterious - musician still reverberate today. And this spring, Erickson will make a very rare foray outside of his hometown of Austin, Texas to play a concert-length set at the Sixth Annual Ponderosa Stomp, set for New Orleans' House of Blues on Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
