Court Helps Kill Net Radio
CMJ reports: The US District Court of Appeals has denied an emergency stay petitioned by webcasters, according to SaveNetRadio, forcing the coalition to reach out to the public to contact Congress to support the Internet Radio Equality Act.

Kaura Needs Your Help
PR reports: You may have noticed that we haven't been covering Lollapalooza this year. That was their choice, not ours. But we're providing some related coverage today since this news came from a cool indie band and not the bellends running the festival. Here is their message, help them out if you can:

Berkeley based band KAURA, is representing the San Francisco Bay Area and all of California for that matter for the Lollapalooza Last Band Standing Contest 2007. Jane's Addiction singer and Lollapalooza Founder Perry Ferrell hand picked 20 bands from the 100 bands who made it to Round #2 on Sunday Night to proceed to Round #3. Voting continues until Midnight on July 20th and people may vote every day. The Top 5 bands will then go to Chicago to battle live in concert in front of Perry Ferrell for the 2 slots available.

Kaura, are hoping that there small but dedicated following will score them a slot in Chicago. "We are totally independent and DIY and have no label or corporate backing like other bands in the contest have." said drummer Benjamin Jones on Monday. "Every vote we get is coming from our fans and people who want to help." The band, who was invited last year to open for TOOL in Sacramento last summer by Livenation, and had A Perfect Circle's Paz Lenchantin guest on their debut EP, is dying for a chance to compete

live in the last round in Chicago. "Our live show is what has gotten us this far" singer Malcolm Guess explained. "We are going to bring Burning Man to Chicago! I think it is important to have California representing in this contest and we can only do it with people's support."
- vote for Kaura
