(CMJ) Sixty-one artists have been chosen as possible contenders for this year's Shortlist Music Prize. The sixth annual event honors the most creative and adventurous albums of the year as picked by a panel of nine industry heavy hitters, including Wayne Coyne, acclaimed music journalist Toure, last year's winner Sufjan Stevens and CMJ's own Rev. Moose. Eligible albums, which must have sold less than 500,000 copies and must have been released in 2006, include Beck, Liars, Mohair, the Blow and Hot Chip. The Long List will ultimately be pared down to 10 in early April, with the winner to be announced later this spring. [see full story for the list] - Click here for the Full Story
