Abbey Road RIP?
Information Week reports: EMI, the Beatles' British record company, is the subject of rumors relating to a possible multi-billion dollar takeover.

That kind of talk has Beatle expert Tim Riley worried. He's concerned that a takeover of EMI by a (presumably heartless) equity firm could put the famed Abbey Road studios at risk. Abbey Road, of course, was made famous by the Beatles album of the same name. It's also where Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, the White Album, and other irreplaceable milestones of modern music were recorded. [Ironically, the Beatles reportedly hated Abbey Road and the photo on the cover shows them walking away from it. More on this can be found at the full story link which also includes a link to Riley's article about the Wall Street types trying to screw up the music biz even more and make all acts the equivalent to an American Idol pop tart. E.g. a mass consumer product. (As if the suits running things now aren't doing a good enough job of that)]- Click Here for the Full Story

Linkin Stalker
Idolator.com reports: The latest issue of Wired has a lengthy, utterly creeptastic story about Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, who was cyberstalked by an employee of Sandia National Laboratories--a federal nuclear-research facility--for more than a year, and how the woman who did it--changing passwords and sending out spoofed e-mails all along--found out how to access his personal information:

The stalking started after she saw Chester's email address inadvertently CC'd in a mass mailing to promote a tattoo parlor he owned in Tempe. Using Chester's birthday and zip code to access his Mac.com account, she started guessing passwords until she found the right one: his middle name, Charlie.
