As I Lay Dying Tour

PR reports: Gearing up for another relentless touring schedule in 2008, metal marvels As I Lay Dying are not waiting long after the New Year to get back on the road. The January 2008 leg of their acclaimed AN OCEAN BETWEEN US tour will feature a fresh crop of opening bands - August Burns Red, Evergreen Terrace and Still Remains � and will continue to bring their genuine brand of fist-pumping metal to a theatre near you.

The outing will begin on January 10th in Las Vegas, NV and will continue on through February 1 in Omaha, NE. Guitarist, Phil Sgrosso says of the upcoming trek "2008 is going to be a very busy year for us and there's no better way to start it off than with a US headline tour. - how about those dates?

King Diamond Throws Out Back and Tour Plans

Metal Underground reports: King Diamond's North American headlining tour - which is scheduled to launch March 23 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and run through May 8 in Houston - has been cancelled due to a herniated disc.

"I can't sit down, even on my couch, for more than a few minutes," King recently told MTV.com. "About [two months ago] I tried, and after 15 minutes, it started feeling like my left leg was getting set on fire."

"It can take up to a year and a half for a severe herniated disc to heal properly, but it varies from person to person," he added. "Right now there's not much more we can do." - more on this story

Everytime I Die Again

PR reports: While your stomachs and wallets are recuperating from the Thanksgiving holiday, mellow out to the rock n' roll hardcore styling of Buffalo's Every Time I Die on ABC.

In case you missed it the first time, Every Time I Die's performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" will re-air this Friday night, November 23, at 12:05 AM. The band's October 31 performances of "We'rewolf" and "No Son Of Mine" will re-air in all their nationally-televised glory.

Every Time I Die recently wrapped up a tour with Underoath, Poison The Well, and Maylene & The Sons of Disaster, and are currently looking ahead to their co-headlining spot on the Take Action Tour. - more on this story

John Hughley RIP

Contact Music reports: Musician John Hughley has died. He was 73. The steel guitarist, who made a name for himself playing for country stars Conway Twitty and Vince Gill, passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday (18Nov07).

The Arkansas native worked with childhood friend Twitty for two decades until the late 1980s, before going on to play for Loretta Lynn and Gill.

Most recently, he became a member of touring musicians the Time Jumpers. - more on this story

New Blood for Asia

PR reports: Asia are pleased to officially announce that the band lineup has finally been completed with the addition of keyboard wizard par excellence Erik Norlander. Erik's evocative synthesizer technique and style is reminiscent of the legendary Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson and Jon Lord while still creating a very unique musical voice of his own.

Vocalist John Payne adds, "We know that the keyboard position is extremely critical to this band and therefore much time was invested to find the right person and all roads lead us to Erik".

James Brown Trustees Not Trustworthy?

Jam! reports: Two people in charge of a portion of James Brown's estate quit their positions Tuesday amid ongoing questions over the late soul singer's finances.

The resignation of the trustees, who included a longtime adviser and close friend of Brown's, was announced during a court hearing shortly after David Cannon, a former trustee, was held in contempt.

Administrators looking into the handling of Brown's estate told the judge in September that Cannon, who stepped down as a trustee the month before, may have misappropriated up to $7 million. - more on this story

Dublin Death Patrol New Year's Eve

PR reports: Bay Area super group Dublin Death Patrol will be headlining a special New Year's Eve concert at Mixes (formerly Bourbon Street Bar & Grill) in Concord, Ca. Dublin Death Patrol features; Chuck Billy of Testament, Steve "Zetro" Souza of Exodus fame, Willy Lange of Rampage and Laaz Rockit, three of the Billy Brothers and some other local Dublin boys.

This show is going to be the most metal way to kick off the New Year. Dublin Death Patrol will be supported by Reignition, Scorched Earth Policy, and 3rd Rail.

Holiday Hate Tour

James Taylor and Carole King Troubadour Shows

PR reports: The Troubadour is honored to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a return three-night engagement, November 28, 29 and 30, from two of its most beloved singer/songwriters, Carole King and James Taylor.

The special performances will feature songs from their 1969 debut Troubadour shows that helped propel them both to the world stage. King and Taylor will reunite with guitarist Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar, drummer Russ Kunkel and bassist Lee Sklar, famous in their own right as The Section. P.S. I Love You Music

PR reports: Atlantic Records has announced the forthcoming release of P.S. I Love You Music From The Motion Picture, the original motion picture soundtrack to the Warner Bros. Pictures/Alcon Entertainment romantic comedy/drama. Due in stores on December 4th, the album features tracks from a diverse range of top artists, including James Blunt, Paolo Nutini, and the one-and-only Pogues. P.S. I Love You, the film, is slated to open in theatres nationwide on December 21st.

Before Springfield Met Jessie's Girl

PR reports: After a 24-year sabbatical, Dr. Noah Drake has returned to ABC daytime, and the music of Rick Springfield is about to fill our speakers once again. Sonic Past Music, a new label dedicated to bringing fans previously unreleased albums from their favorite classic artists, has just uncovered Rick Springfield: The Early Sound City Sessions. The CD will be available on November 20 and includes material that set the stage for Springfield's rise as a Pop star.

Recorded in 1977 and '78, the album includes songs that were later re-recorded with studio musicians for his Beautiful Feelings album. But, check this out � Rick Springfield: The Early Sound City Sessions features a bonus track, "Still Got the Magic," which has never been heard before.
