Axl Wants Original Guns N' Roses Reunion?
antiMusic reports: Is Axl Rose looking to welcome his original Guns N' Roses bandmates back to the jungle? We're not sure how much stock to put into this story which is based on a UK press report, but just in case it's for real, here it is part of the report from Nightwatcher's House of Rock:

Record execs are fuming after Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose went missing for two months before the release of the band's comeback album - but according to The Daily Telegraph, word is he has been trying to get the original line-up back together for a world tour.

[Axl] has reportedly been trying to get the original gang to reunite. Guitarist Izzy Stradlin is keen to see the original members back together - while Slash's involvement in current band Velvet Revolver looks shaky after they were dropped by their label. - more on this story

AC/DC Movie Planned
Undercover reports: Filmmaker Eddie Martin is working on a movie about AC/DC legend Bon Scott. The yet-to-be titled movie is in its early stages.

"We've been working heavily on it for a couple of months. It's early days," Martin tells Undercover News. "We are in the writing process. We've been meeting with Gaby, Mary, Irene and The Valentines crew, people like Vince Lovegrove, Bon's early friends". (Irene was Bon's former wife).

Casting is also being considered. Tom Budge (Three Dollars, Australian Rules, The Night We Called It A Day) is the front-runner for the part of Angus Young but Bon is still to be cast. "We have been considering casting and we are not going to contain this to Australia," he says. - more on this story

Do You Take The Grammys Seriously?
antiMusic reports: We only ask because of stories like this from AP: Lil Wayne was the most rewarded by the Recording Academy on Wednesday, receiving eight Grammy nominations including album of the year for "Tha Carter III."

Following close behind was Coldplay, with seven. Their "Viva La Vida," one of the year's best-selling CDs, is in album of the year contention along with Radiohead's groundbreaking "In Rainbows"; singer-songwriter Ne-Yo's "Year of the Gentleman"; and Robert Plant's collaboration with Alison Krauss, "Raising Sand."

Nominations were announced in a brand-new format this year, with an hourlong live prime-time CBS concert special that featured a brisk procession of performers and LL Cool J and Taylor Swift as hosts. - more on this story

Stupidest Rock Quotes of 2008
Gibson reports: Rock stars are not like us. They don't think twice about spending half their lives on tour buses. For breakfast, they eat groupies and large swaths of leather, washing it down with a glass of fire. And they can knock out amazing songs while sitting on the crapper. It's only when they open their mouths and say something so preposterously stupid that we realize they're human too ― only with far lower IQs. A few choice entries from Gibson's list of 15 +

9. Why would Motφrhead's Lemmy Kilmeister wear a Nazi cap to a band photo shoot in Germany? "From the beginning of time, the bad guys always had the best uniforms," he explained to the Guardian. "Napoleon, the Confederates, the Nazis. They all had killer uniforms. I mean, the SS uniform is fucking brilliant! They were the rock stars of that time. What're you gonna do? They just look good."

10. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich may be living clean these days but that doesn't mean he has to put up with boring old sober people around the dinner table at parties now, does it? "Two guys in a bathroom stall ― it feels like the most important place in the whole world in that moment," Ulrich told Blender. "I've actually gone into bathroom stalls with friends since I quit, just so I still have a little bit of that bonding."

Chris Martin: "Like millions of people in the world, I can't listen to Coldplay." - Read the full list of rock quote gemms!

Rock Related Grammy Noms
antiMusic reports: Rock releases are topping the charts all year long but in Grammy land it's all about the pop and hip-pop but they do throw a few bones to rock fans, and unlike giving Jethro Tull a metal Grammy some of this year's rock noms make sense.

On the other hand, some are head scratchers like Motley Crue's weakest output in their career of rather tepid output. That spot should have gone to AC/DC who actually had a song that attracted fans to buy their album in droves.

The 51th annual Grammy Awards, will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. - Here are the rock related nominations.
