Bumblefoot Week: Day 2 "Glad To Be Here"
antiMusic reports: With a sound described as "The Sex Pistols meets Queen, with innovative guitar and a Zappa-esque twist" how could your interest not be sparked? We are talking about Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal who was thrust into the international spotlight a couple years ago when he joined Guns N' Roses and quickly won the fans over on their world tour. But that new gig hasn't changed Bubblefoot's DIY ethic as he continues to be a champion of the underground with his new self-released CD "Abnormal". That effort from the critically acclaimed rocker is available this week and we asked Bumblefoot to pick his favorite tracks from the album and tell us a bit about each one. He more than delivered! Here is Bumblefoot with today's song:

After getting off a tour, the transition back to civilian life ain't easy - life feels *wrong*, like it isn't yours and ya don't belong there. Within 12 hours, I'm going crazy, have even less tolerance for the little things that piss me off, need to drive faster than a ----ty old Hyundai was meant to, and am at a loss on how to budget my time, re-learning what a day is and what it's suddenly supposed to consist of. "Glad To Be Here" came out of one of those moments where you're in the last place you'd want to be.

Like in the 80's at the DMV, when the lines went out the door, ya get to the window and the lady says there's another form to fill out, and you have to wait on line again for another 3 hours. Or traffic court, waitin' to see the judge. I think I've seen half the ones in NJ, one in Westchester, got out of having to sit in one in Virginia. But yeah, if you're ever in that spot, in that kinda traffic, in that kinda trouble, or with those kinds of people, think of the verses to this song, it'll say it all for ya. - Check out the lyrics to this song and find out where you can get a preview of the CD!

The Man We Love To Hate Is Back
idolator reports: Eminem must have punched the wall when (and if) he heard that arch enemies Fred "That Little Limp Bizkit Bastard" Durst and Tom "My Bum Is On Your Lips" Green united their powers for an episode of Green's talk show Tom Green's House Tonight!

Durst, promoting his upcoming directorial effort The Longshots, appeared disheveled and unkempt, recalling the Judgment Night soundtrack, Urban Dance Squad, and watching Wes Borland dress up in his Bizkit make-up through a long telescope. That accent? - Watch the video

GNR Reunion Inevitable Says Drummer
antiMusic reports: Today's Running Out of Patience Meter reading: it has been 5,334 days since the last new Guns N' Roses album was released. Now to today's GNR story, this one courtesy of the good folks at Blabbermouth: Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum has told Joe Bosso of MusicRadar.com that he thinks Guns N' Roses will get back together. "I'm sure it'll happen eventually," he said.

Sorum isn't so sure about his involvement in a reunion, however. "They could be having meetings about it right now. They could be in a bomb shelter, with Axl [Rose, vocals] and Slash [guitar] and Duff [McKagan, bass]. And Izzy [Stradlin, guitar]! Maybe Steven Adler [original Guns N' Roses drummer] I don't know. I'd probably be the very, very, very last guy to get the call."

As for the status of Velvet Revolver's search for a new lead singer following the departure of Scott Weiland, Sorum said, "We are looking. We are actively looking. We rehearsed for a couple of weeks. We tried out a couple of guys. We have a guy right now that we're still let me see, what would be the correct word massaging, as you will sort of checking it out, feeling it out, letting him work with us. - more on this story

Borland Censored By Mistake
Blabbermouth reports: "Cruel Melody", the 2007 debut album from Black Light Burns, the new band led by former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, received its long-awaited European release on June 20 via Edel. Wes has since issued the following update regarding the release:

"Dear Europe, it seems we just keep blowing it with you. First the album doesn't come out for a year, then our summer festival dates get rickety, and finally the worst thing ever happens: A person who will remain unnamed that works for our label sent the Wal-Mart version [Wal-Mart is a chain of conservative corporate stores in the U.S. that only carries albums which have had all profanity removed] of our master to Edel (our record label in Europe).

"That version has all of the cuss words censored, and that's what you've been hearing if you bought the album in Europe. I cannot begin to fathom how a mistake like this could have slipped through so many fingers unnoticed, but somehow it has and I am as disgusted and disappointed by it as you must be." - more on this story

Lamb of God Star Discusses Acting Debut
PR reports: Lamb of God vocalist D. Randall Blythe will be appearing in the upcoming horror/thriller, The Graves, which will be screened for distributors this fall. The film stars Tony Todd (Candyman) and Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects) and was written and directed by former comic book writer Brian Pulido.

The Graves is Randy's first foray into film. He plays Deacon Luke, one of the evil denizens of Skull City. Randy checked in with an update on his participation in the movie:

"I recently returned from the blazing hot Arizona desert where I was trying my hand at "acting" (insert rolling of many eyes and "Great, ANOTHER musician who thinks he's an 'actor'" quote here) in the upcoming film The Graves. My buddy Brian Pulido wrote and directed it. Brian is a long time comic book author (creator of "Lady Death", "Evil Ernie", and founder of Chaos Comics) who has put down the pen long enough to yell and scream at me and production assistants, er, I mean direct his first feature film. He also happens to be a metal head from waaaaay back- his character Evil Ernie is partially based on my pal Bobby Blitz of Overkill fame. Brian and I met at Ozzfest '04 through our mutual friend James "The Metal Legend" Collins and have been friends ever since. JC had mentioned to me that Brian was making a movie, so the next time Lamb rolled through Phoenix, Brian came out, and I pressured him into giving me a shot at a part. A few auditions later and I had the part of Luke, an upstanding citizen of the town of Unity, AZ, where the film is set. - more on this story

Former Evanescence Star Starts Label
PR reports: The creative force behind the rise of rock band Evanescence, with hits "Bring Me to Life" and "The Fallen", songwriter Ben Moody has taken his love for the music in a new direction; as head of the new, artist-centered label, FNR Records!

Since his departure from Evanescence in 2003, Moody has collaborated with some of the hottest stars in the music business; the established and the up-and-comers. His songwriting and producing credits include working with Avril Lavigne on her second release Under My Skin, penning "Nobody's Home", "This Time" with Celine Dion, "What About Now" from Chis Daughtry, and Moody co-wrote and produced the smash hit, "Because of You" with David Hodges for Kelly Clarkson. The reason for Moody's new direction, FNR Records, is simple, he states, "after going to such great lengths to protect the integrity of a project during the creative process, it seemed almost sinful to let the major label monster destroy it."

In order to live its credo of protecting the creative artists, FNR Records first client is a young, Montana native, Hana Pestle; an alternative rock/acoustic solo artist. Pestle's sound carries a unique blend of influences as diverse as Radiohead, Sarah Mclachlan, and the Cranberries. Hana Pestle is now touring the Midwest, performing her songs, "These Two Hands", "Just a Phase" and her own haunting rendition of "Hallelujah". Moody was instantly taken in by Pestle's voice, "It only took Hana singing one song and I was sold . . . I have never in my life been more in awe of such a breathtaking natural talent." - more on this story

Sevendust To Rock The Troops
Blabbermouth reports: Sevendust will head overseas to perform for the U.S. Armed Forces in Germany, Kuwait and Afghanistan for the first two weeks of July.

Commented guitar player Clint Lowery: "Just resting up from the last run [of dates with Sevendust] and again, it was the best. All of you that we had a chance to chill with, talk to, hang with, it was a pleasure! The crowds were great as always. The Sevendust family is alive and well and we appreciate all of you more than words can say.

"We only have three days off before we all hop back on a plane, fly across the ocean to Germany to begin our USO tour that you've maybe heard about. To be able to go over there and experience this, play for the troops, take in those elements and stories will be life-changing for us as a band. Not that we'll need any more material to write about for a new record (because trust when I say we do when the time comes), we always can use more. I personally don't know what I feel about the war but I support the men and women over there doing their jobs 110%. God bless all of them and anyone affected by this war. I just want to do what the damn music is meant to do, forget about everything for a sec and let out some aggression, happiness, sadness, whatever you need to let out!

This reunion will give fans as well as those who missed The Force the first time around a chance to witness California hardcore/punk at its truest and finest.

The Force will only be playing three shows, the first of which will be in their hometown of Grass Valley, CA (a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills, between Sacramento and Reno) followed by a Bay Area concert and finally a Southern California stop.
