Slightly Stoopid Week: Day 1 "No Cocaine"
antiMusic reports: Most people will look at a band named Slightly Stoopid and automatically write them off. That would be majorly stupid, as these guys have a lot to offer as their brand new album, 'Slightly Not Stoned Enough To Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid,' shows. They're carrying on the Reggae tradition proudly into the 21 century. With their new album hitting stores this week we hear from the band about some of the songs. Here they are with today's song:

KYLE: "No Cocaine" is about the herb – we don't really do anything except smoke herb. All the other drugs are kind of irrelevant to us, just coz we're stoners. We recorded that one in Inner Circle's studio, and we were lucky enough to have them play with us on that one and a couple of other ones. The bass player Ian, the keyboard player Touter – all those dudes. The guitar player that plays in Easy Star All-Stars. We look up to those guys, because those are the original rockers right there, and we're in their studio, recoding some shit. We collaborated on their song, and they collaborated on ours, so it was just like, 'pinch yourself sh*t.'

MILES: One of my favorite songs is the "No Cocaine" song – Junior Jazz, Ian, and Touter played on that song, the Inner Circle guys. The song's got a pretty tight rhythm. Jazz was ripping up the guitar, and everybody was pretty much laying down a nice flavor over it.

Guess Which Rapper Got Arrested Again?
antiMusic reports: A certain rapper has been arrested yet again! We shouldn't even need to give you a hint. Just think about a rapper that has become the U.S. answer to Pete Doherty when it comes to being arrested almost every other week. BBC gives us the mystery man's identity plus the details on his latest run in with "the man":

Rapper DMX has been arrested on suspicion he gave a false name to get out of paying for hospital medical expenses, US police said.

County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the star told Mayo Clinic in Arizona that his name was Troy Jones and failed to pay a $7,500 (£3,752) bill in April. - more on this story

Band Fires Member For Being An Atheist
antiMusic reports: Imagine you are in a popular Christian band and one of your members comes to you and tell you that they no longer believe. This was the very quandary that Haste The Day have recently faced when their guitarist Jason Barnes told them that he lost his faith.

Here is a statement from the band on what they decided to do: This is going to come as a shock to many of you. After much prayer and thought given to the matter, we asked Jason Barnes to step down from his involvement with Haste the Day. For a while Jason has been searching and searching for real meaning in his existence. After several months of reading literature and talking with friends, Jason had determined that he felt there was no God and certainly no Jesus. We as a band do not have problem with those that do not believe in Jesus, nor do we cast judgement on those that do not believe in Jesus. We just want to love on people like Jesus would and hopefully share a little bit about what he's done and doing in our lives.

We would call ourselves a Christian band and for that reason, we felt we couldn't have someone in the band who didn't agree with the band's foundational drive. Jason's new found disbelief in what the rest of us have committed our lives to began to cause disunity within the band and as a result, we prayed and talked about it and felt like God was saying it wasn't time for Haste the Day to come to an end. Thusly, We asked Jason to leave. - more on this story

Guns N' Rehab
Blabbermouth reports: TMZ.com has posted video footage of former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler — who was arrested for drugs and an outstanding warrant yesterday — exiting the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) Hollywood station with his bail bondsman after being released from police custody at 5:28 p.m. PST on Friday (July 18).

"In conjunction with Dr. Drew Pinsky, who is the owner of the Las Encinas rehab center [in Pasadena, California], we're about to — hopefully with Steven Adler's co-operation — escort him to Las Encinas to check him in to begin a hopefully positive rehab stay," the bondsman told the TMZ cameraman before bailing Adler out.

"If he resists, I've been authorized to re-arrest him and take him forthwith back to L.A. County jail downtown and re-book him into the County jail system, 'cause I can't do it here at the police department. So my fingers are crossed that he's gonna be a willing and co-operative defendant." - more on this story

Hinder To Finally Go Soph
Reuters reports: After moving nearly 3 million copies of its 2005 debut album, "Extreme Behavior," Oklahoma City rock band Hinder is eyeing another big release with its new album, "Take It to the Limit."

The disc, due November 4 via Universal Republic, is already off to strong start with the single "Use Me," which debuted at No. 36 on Billboard's latest airplay-based Mainstream Rock chart.

The group is perhaps best known for its ballad "Lips of an Angel," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Top 40 charts. But label executive Tom Mackay said success in the rock genre is Hinder's first priority. - more on this story

Run DMC Star Hospitalized
E! reports: Darryl McDaniels, the rap progenitor who put the DMC in Run-DMC, has been admitted to a New Jersey hospital, where he is expected to undergo surgery to remove two major blood clots later today, publicist Tracey Miller confirmed to E! News.

The rapper had been suffering from pain and swelling in his left arm. The pain became so intense he went to the hospital, where doctors discovered the blockages.

It's unclear how long the 44-year-old will remain in the hospital, but the unexpected sick-bay stay forced him out of a planned appearance at the AVP Beach Vollyeball Tournament - more on this story

T.I. Paper Trail
PR reports: T.I. has unveiled further details of his new album, "Paper Trail." The rapper will release the follow-up to 2007's "T.I. vs T.I.P." on September 9th.

"I just want everyone to know that it's coming out and that I'm going to answer a lot of questions in the music," the ATL-based rapper says of "PAPER TRAIL." "It's intense and insightful; it's gonna shake up the game and it's me at my best."

"PAPER TRAIL" has been heralded by the street track, "No Matter What," on which T.I. directly addresses his current life situation. The track – produced by Danjahandz (Timbaland, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, Danity Kane) – has been building momentum organically, scoring major airplay at Urban and Rhythmic radio outlets nationwide. The song's companion video is now in "Medium" rotation at BET and in "Heavy" rotation on the network's Rap City. At MTV, "No Matter What" is in rotation across the spectrum, including MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits, and MTV Jams (where it was recently "Jam of the Week"). - more on this story

Billy Joel and McCartney Say Goodbye to Shea Stadium
Billboard reports: Billy Joel bade a stirring farewell to Shea Stadium on Friday during an electrifying, sold-out final show at the same ballpark where the Beatles famously ushered in a new era in rock 'n' roll four decades ago.

He was joined by an all-star lineup of friends including Paul McCartney, who told Joel, "Came here a long time ago. We had a blast that night and we're having another one tonight."

"Good evening, Shea Stadium. Is this cool or what?" Joel told the crowd at the New York Mets' home field, which is to be razed after the baseball season to make way for a new stadium across the street. - more on this story and find out which other big name friends gave him a little help
