Lustra Gives 10,000 CDs 2 The Troops
PR reports: Alternative-rock warriors Lustra have made their second major musical donation to US troops for the upcoming holiday season, sending 10,000 copies of their latest album What You Need and What You Get to the military's rock fans worldwide.

The donation, made through organization Give 2 The Troops, follows the band's previous donation of 10,000 special edition copies of their debut album Left For Dead in 2006. The band was also recently invited to play for troops sometime in the next year by Armed Forces Entertainment.

"Whether or not you believe in this war we're wrapped up in right now, you have to have compassion for the brave men and women who are out there serving our country," said guitarist Nick Cloutman of the donation. "And if 45 minutes of music can bring a little light into their lives, we're happy to oblige."

Dexter Romweber To Rock With Dave Matthews on the Silver Screen
PR reports: Dexter Romweber announces his first acting role in the new movie Lake City, starring Sissy Spacek, Keith Carradine, Rebecca Romjin and Drea de Matteo. Dex plays Frank, the guitarist in Keith Carradine's band, and he is joined in that combo by Dave Matthews.

In the film, Rebecca Romijn plays a small-town cop romantically involved with Troy Garity's character, who reunites with his estranged mother (Sissy Spacek) when deadly circumstances threaten their home.

When asked about his experience, Dex explained, "It was very different being in a movie, then playing music, but the waiting around to perform was the same. All the cast and crew were very helpful to me. Keith Carradine was a true gentleman and Sissy Spacek and Troy Garity (Jane Fonda's son) were very nice. As I've never acted before, Perry Moore the director was ever encouraging. Would I do it again? Yes, of course!" - more on this story

Eric Hutchinson Live From Daryl's House
PR reports: Pop artist Eric Hutchinson grew up in the Washington, DC/Maryland area as an avid listener of Daryl Hall and John Oates' music, so it was practically a dream come true when he got to appear with the man himself on his free monthly webshow, Live From Daryl's House, on the 12th, and latest, edition of the concert series, which can be seen starting Oct. 15.

"Being on Live From Daryl's House was a memorable day for me," says Hutchinson, whose album Sounds Like This, released on his own Let's Break Records, debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart and crashed the Top 10 on the iTunes chart after being touted by noted Internet blogger Perez Hilton, and was subsequently picked up for distribution by Warner Bros. Records. "Getting to sing 'Private Eyes' along with Daryl and then hearing him sing along to my songs was a surreal and amazing experience."

New Heartless Bastards In Stores Early Next Year
PR reports: Fat Possum Records is excited to announce that the Heartless Bastards are set to release their third record on January 20, 2009.

The record is called The Mountain and was produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead, Patty Griffin). The Mountain delivers the swamped-up rock howl that fans have come to love from the critically acclaimed

In October 2007, Wennerstrom packed her bags and moved to Austin, TX, to write her new record, and work with producer McCarthy. In true ascetic discipline, she rented a meager apartment, locked herself inside, wrote for six months straight and came out with 11 songs that represent the evolution critics and fans have been anticipating for years. Once the album was finished, she immediately got to work on assembling a new band, searching for musicians who would help take her live show to a whole new level. After weeks of auditions, a serendipitous alignment of stars occurred, and she found what she was looking for. The two new members aren't Texas ringers, but fellow Dayton brethren Dave Colvin on drums, and Jesse Ebaugh on bass, who actually played on the original demo that hooked Fat Possum in the first place. The line up this fall will also include Bill Elm on lap steel, and occasionally Zy O.Lyn on violin. The new and improved Heartless Bastards are sure to leave fans reeling and wanting more. - more on this story

Playing Underwater
PR reports: The Underwater has scheduled live dates in and around its home base of York, Penn., following the release of its new album, "Forces."

The hard-working group toured nationally and internationally while promoting its EPs recorded prior to "Forces," and now The Underwater is focusing on a string of dates before hitting the road for more full-fledged touring. Longtime fans in these areas will be thrilled about the return of The Underwater, a band that truly shines in the live arena.

"With all of the pressure and stress that goes along with being in a band, the live show is the one thing that is still just as exciting and fun to me as it was when I was a little kid in a garage band," said guitarist Matt Holmes. "When I was younger, I remember not being able to sleep before a ----ty little fire hall show because I was so nervous and excited. That's the one part of the day that is my time and no one can take from me, and I hope I never lose that passion to play and perform." - more on this story

Due in stores November 25 and comprised of two DVDs and 1 CD, "45 Days" documents the band's tour in support of last year's "Storm the Gates of Hell" as well as the band's intense connection with their fans, with many stories directly from the "hunters" themselves.

"The stories they've told us have inspired many of our songs and in turn I believe many of our songs connect with our fans in a very personal way," explains Demon Hunter vocalist and co-founder Ryan Clark. Our fans are truly the lifeblood of the band."
