Sounds of Twilight
PR reports: Chop Shop Records and Atlantic Records have announced the release of "Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack," the musical companion to the upcoming Summit Entertainment film.

Due in stores and online on November 4th, the entire album features songs that will appear in the movie, highlighted by Paramore's brand new single, "Decode." Twilight is slated to open in theatres nationwide on November 21st.

In addition to a second new song from Paramore, the soundtrack features tracks from Muse, Linkin Park, Collective Soul, and an original song from Perry Farrell. As if that weren't enough, Twilight star Robert Pattinson (who plays Edward Cullen) has contributed an original song, "Never Think"—his first-ever released recording. - more on this story

Spears Not Knocked Up Again
TMZ reports: Why this really news? Who knows? Some people actually care about this stuff so in an effort to mock them, we give you the following report.

It appears there were rumors that the jailbait sister of a certain infamous pop tart reportedly had a bun in over. Her second actually. But it's all BS claims the following TMZ report: Jamie Lynn Spears is not pregnant, y'all! While several reports are claiming Jamie Lynn is preggers again, an unimpeachable source tells TMZ Britney's baby sis does not have another bun in the oven.

Shocking huh? Well you can let out that breath you've been holding in and go here to read more if you actually give even a slight damn about this.

What's Brit up to? TMZ has that too: "Britney Spears, about to go on trial for the heinous crime of driving without a valid California license, was offered a deal to make the case go away -- a $150 fine, and 12 months probation. Britney's lawyer, Michael Flanagan, told TMZ....no way Jose." They went on talk about Britney not admitting to a criminal offense. We wouldn't be too proud of those albums either. Duran Duran's Rio Gets Classic Albums DVD Treatment
PR reports: Continuing the highly-acclaimed "Classic Albums" DVD documentary series, Eagle Vision is proud to announce Rio by Duran Duran. The November 4 release has a pre-book date of October 15 and a retail sales price of $14.98.

Rio, arguably the greatest of all Duran Duran albums, was originally released in 1982, a time of British riots, record unemployment and the highly unpopular Falklands war. It catapulted Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Andy Taylor into international celebrity. (None of the Taylors are related.)

In this installment of "Classic Albums," a fascinating story emerges, one of the writing, the recording and reaction to the unbelievable success of this sound. With new interviews, vintage clips of the original era, new and archival performance footage and musical demonstrations that explain the genesis of certain songs, this 90-minute insider peek is a must for all culture vultures. Excerpts from songs such as "Rio," "My Own Way," "Hungry Like The Wolf," "New Religion," "Save A Prayer," "The Chauffeur" and others are beautifully interwoven into the fabric of the story. Brand new session performances filmed in Boston exclusively for this program, plus interviews and demonstrations not seen in the original broadcast version, are included.

Johnny Cash's America
PR reports: Bio Channel shares the unique story of one man, his music and the country that embraced him with the two hour documentary special "Johnny Cash's America," premiering on Thursday, October 23 at 9 PM EST/10 PM PT.

At the time of his death in 2003, no other entertainer in history had brought together people of such diverse creeds, politics, and persuasions as Johnny Cash. With hits spanning six decades from the 1950s into the 21st century, Cash sought to advocate his beliefs and unify people through his music. Wading in the controversies of his time, Cash was a man who believed in God but was a friend to the Devil, a patriot and a drug addict, a friend to Presidents and an ally to prisoners. His America was not red, white or blue; it was black.

A first time partnership between the Cash Estate, Sony Music, Executive Producer John Carter Cash and Award-winning filmmaking team Morgan Neville (Hank Williams: Honky Tonk Blues) and Robert Gordon (Muddy Waters Can't Be Satisfied, with Morgan Neville), the special sheds new light on the life and legacy of the "Man in Black."

Jager Theory
PR reports: Rev Theory will follow up their successful summer road trip with the Jagermeister Music Tour this fall.

The band will serve as direct support for Hinder and Trapt beginning October 24 in Magna, UT. REV THEORY spent their summer performing to sold-out arenas with Puddle of Mudd, living the life in Vegas, and rubbing elbows with Hollywood mainstays.

After their rousing performance of "Hell Yeah" and "Light It Up" on Jimmy Kimmel Live in August, the band partied hardy at a special event at the Maloof household. Oh and guess what? Britney was there. So put that in your pipe and light it up. [yeah so?] - more on this story

Birmingham: Home of Metal
PR reports: The city of Birmingham has spawned arguably some of the most influential bands of all time - bands who defined genres and influenced generations. To celebrate this, art and music promoters CAPSULE are launching a new project named "Home of Metal", with the aim of creating the first digital archive of music, memorabilia and more, to tell the story of this city's unique musical heritage.

Along with such legends as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Led Zeppelin, Earache Records' very own early signings Napalm Death and Godflesh will be featured in this special tribute to metal and the place where it all started.

"Home of Metal" will be launching at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on Saturday 25th October, from 10:00am to 4:30pm, where rare artefacts from the early days of Napalm Death's and Godflesh's careers will be exhibited. Fans are invited to come along with memorabilia and share their personal experiences of the bands, all of which will go towards the new digital archive. - more on this story

Cynic Are Back
PR reports: Reunited progressive metallurgists Cynic, the Floridian forefathers of tech-minded prog metal, and the proud parents of 1993's landmark Focus, will unveil their first album in 15 years October 28th.

Due via French powerhouse Season of Mist, Traced In Air is an eight song tour de force of twisted time-signatures, mind-bending riffs and all-out metal indulgence, building upon the groundwork laid out by the formidable Focus while fortifying and updating a genre the band practically willed into existence a decade and a half ago.

In other news, the band will support OPETH on their upcoming European trek in November and December - more on this story

An exclusive iTunes edition of Sounds Like This, Hutchinson's debut album, will be released on October 14th. It will feature two bonus tracks - "OK, It's Alright With Me" and "You Don't Have To Believe Me" - that Hutchinson recorded earlier this year while guesting on NPR's "World Cafι" - plus the official video for lead single "Rock & Roll." Lensed by U.K. director David Mullett (Babyshambles, Lucky Soul, Vinyl), the video is currently being played on VH1, MTVu.

Update: Former Guns N' Roses Members Form Guns of Destruction
antiMusic reports: There is the new super group that has been formed by former members of the Guns N' Roses family of bands. A member of the group tells antiMusic that the project is named Guns of Destruction and they will make their live debut later this year.

The band features former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, the Guns in the original Guns N' Rose Tracii Guns (LA Guns/Brides of Destruction) as well as Chip Z'nuff (Enuff Z'nuff / Missing Persons / Adler's Appetite).

Chip Z'nuff spoke with antiMusic on Tuesday and told us that the band is really looking forward to their first show and there might also be some very special guests in attendance.

Update: We updated the story after hearing back from Chip that some of the original information we reported wasn't finalized. When it is we will let you know. Sorry for the confusion but it's rock n' roll after all! -
