Doctor Orders Janet Jackson To Calls In Sick For More Shows

AP reports: The doctor has again ordered Janet Jackson to postpone a return to her "Rock Witchu" tour. Jackson was scheduled to resume her tour Monday night at the Turning Stone Resort in New York after canceling a show over the weekend in Connecticut.

A message posted on the resort and casino's Web site stated the show had been canceled at the advice of Jackson's doctor.

She has since postponed several shows, including Thursday night's show at Madison Square Garden in New York. Promoters say the dates will be rescheduled.

Now independent artists who are releasing music in unconventional ways, the pioneering and influential Pumpkins are making "G.L.O.W." available via the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour game.

Serena Ryder Sweeping The Digital Ashes Today

PR reports: Atlantic Records has announced the release of the "Sweeping The Ashes Ep," from acclaimed singer/songwriter Serena Ryder. The three-track release will be available at all digital retailers from Tuesday, October 14th.

A CD version of "Sweeping The Ashes Ep" will be available on Tuesday, October 28th, exclusively at independent retail stores as well as at venues during Ryder's upcoming U.S. tour.

Ryder – who earlier this year received the 2008 Juno Award for "Best New Artist" – will herald the release of "Sweeping The Ashes Ep" with a series of U.S. tour dates, kicking off on October 16th at Madison, Wisconsin's Majestic Theatre. Paul Shortino Taps Michael Voss To Produce New CD

Blabbermouth reports: Michael Voss has signed on with AOR Heaven to produce the forthcoming album by veteran rocker Paul Shortino.

Shortino's musical career includes stints with Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot, The Cutt as well as a portrayal of "Duke Fame" in the infamous cult classic movie hit "This Is Spinal Tap". Paul has toured the world extensively throughout his career, always finding great success with his German fans.

Going forward, Paul opted to develop projects on his own, often mixing it up with a veritable hard rock "who's who" of virtuoso players. Venturing into a diverse array of endeavors suited Shortino, and it's the career model he's stayed with up to the present. - more on this story
