Gojira Week: Day 4
antiMusic reports: France isn't exactly the country you think of when you think of heavy metal but heavy rockers Gojira are out to change that perception. The band hit record stores this week with their new album ''The Way of All Flesh," and to celebrate the release we asked frontman Joe Duplantier to pick his favorite tracks from the disc and tell us a little about each one. Here is Joe with today's song:

"All The Tears": This is the last song we composed for the album. It was almost not on the record, but we had two good guitar riffs that we wanted to put on the album and couldn't help adding this song. Plus, I had these lyrics I was working on about how hard it is to be alive... No matter who you are, or where you come from, the first thing that you do when you are born is cry. The second riff particularly is very experimental and dissonant and it's a good example of the atmospheres we're trying to create with Gojira.

Coheed and Cambria Neverender Tour
antiMusic reports: We know a lot of Coheed and Cambria fans have been waiting for these details. They finally arrived! Here you go: NEVERENDER is an event created by the band in which this progressive rock juggernaut will, for the first time, perform live over four nights all four of their concept records in their entirety. The albums will be played in order from beginning to end. Each night's production will be specifically catered to the record being performed.

NEVERENDER was originally intended to take place in New York and Los Angeles exclusively. The 15,000 tickets for these shows sold out entirely within an astounding three hours of going on sale. When the band saw how fast all 8 shows sold, they decided to extend the tour to include Chicago and London. Kerrang magazine in the UK will be announcing the details of the London show on Wednesday, August 20th.

"NEVERENDER came about because we wanted to celebrate the end of the Coheed and Cambria saga in a special way," says Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez. "We wanted to come up with an idea that paid proper respect to this phase of our career, while at the same time gave our fans something truly unique and different. Many of these songs have never been played in front of an audience before so I think we're going to be freaking out at the same time our fans are. It's going to be a major challenge. We're psyched our fans have been so loyal and amazing. We figured they deserved this."

Ringo Clarifies Fan Mail Ban
Abbeyrd's Beatles Page reports: Ringo Starr recently put a video update on his official website asking people not to continue to send fan mail to be signed after October 20. This was in direct response to an inordinate amount of items which have recently appeared for sale on e-bay, and to those that repeatedly send cards and items to be signed.

This message was not aimed at "real fans" and after over 45 yrs of signing we know they will understand. Ringo has always signed items and is in fact the only Beatle to have been doing so.

Ringo also feels strongly that it is a waste of paper and we all should be mindful of our carbon footprint. At the end of the day Ringo wanted to make a message that was clear and to the point and is confident his real fans understand that. That said, the recent response from the media has prompted him to clarify that video.

Hello Stranger Star Releasing Solo Debut
PR reports: As a member of the indie rock sensation Hello Stranger, Juliette Commagre has toured the world and shared the stage with the likes of Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon. Now she steps out on her own with her debut solo disc Queens Die Proudly, set for release October 28th on Aeronaut Records.

When Juliette settled down in California to write this album she sought to "evoke a certain melancholy and feeling of isolation that no matter what never seems to go away." By returning to her classical roots (her father is a classical record producer and she grew up playing classical piano) she is incorporating strings, horns, and Brahms-inspired piano voices along with her love of Tangerine Dream-esque arpeggiators and synthesizers. She truly expresses her intentions in an epic and haunting musical landscape.

Juliette's supporting tour finds her in the musical hotspots of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and New York City, showcasing her talent for eager fans and newcomers alike. - more on this story

Scouting For American Girls
PR reports: The hugely successful Scouting For Girls will be making their US debut at this year's CMJ Music Marathon! The band quickly became Britain's favorite new indie-pop band with their first single, "She's So Lovely", which spent a remarkable six weeks in the UK Top 10, peaking at number 7.

The debut album, 'Scouting For Girls' went straight in at number 12 on week of release (September 2007), and has since made the band a much cherished, household name in the UK. It has spent 56 weeks on the UK chart, and has to date sold close to 700,000 copies. It has already reached double platinum status in the UK, platinum in Ireland and, by Christmas of this year, should surpass triple platinum in the UK! The second single, "Elvis Ain't Dead", is a long-standing live favorite and a song that celebrates Scouting For Girls at their most charming. A devilish combination of sublime piano hooks and wanton melody combines with Roy Stride's lament to unrequited love, with an ever-engaging nostalgic twist. Continued success came with the follow up singles, 'Heartbeat' and 'It's Not About You' and they are set to release the 5th single from the album, 'I Wish I Was James Bond', which is out this November in the UK. - more on this story

Singled Out: The Wanteds
antiMusic reports: Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today we have one of the best Singled Out's yet! Tommy Harrington of The Wanteds tells us about the gripping story behind "Ladysmith" from their new album "Failure Looks So Good". We now turn it over to Tommy for the story:

After more than a year of struggling with a pretty serious drug addiction I finally managed to get sober again and about six weeks later "Ladysmith" arrived on the scene. I was in a very confused place emotionally and a lot of stuff from my childhood was bubbling up to the surface. When I first presented the song to the band it was a six minute angry epic with only a few lines of lyrics, directed at my oldest step-brother and centering around some sexual abuse that happened when I was in sixth grade. I named the song "Ladysmith" after a small town in Wisconsin where my step-brother had been ruined financially in a business deal and the "you lose, 'cause failure looks so good on you" line was originally directed right at him...a bit of a bitter take on the idea of karmic payback.

Right off the bat we could sense there was something special about the mood of the song. The way we all do our own thing in the verses, the bass and drums dancing around the guitar riff, only to come crashing together in the choruses perfectly matched what I was going through at the time as I was learning to confront these childhood issues and find my footing. Ryan's distorted bass line in the verses is pure genius and I ended up drawing most of the vocal melody from his bass, which happens more often than not in our songs. We got rid of some stuff, to maximize the impact of the song, so it ended up being quite a bit shorter than the original version.
