Brian Head Welch (ex-Korn) Week: Day 1 |
"Flush" is about flushing all of my addictions in life down the toilet and starting out fresh--exactly what I've been doing for the last few years. All the drama that I experienced with getting drunk and doing drugs all the time seemed interesting and amusing to write about. That lifestyle is total insanity and I'm just glad I'm not dead and I was able to write a song like "Flush."
We know you are anxious to hear what Head's new music sounds like, so you can grab previews from "Save Me From Myself," learn more about the album and Head's new autobiography and more right

Warrant Fire Jani Lane |
"It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce that Jani Lane will no longer be performing with Warrant. From the beginning of our reunion talks to the last note of our last show together in Houston this past weekend we have had nothing but good intentions of bringing a quality original Warrant show to our fans and friends. We wish Jani nothing but the best and remain friends.
We are very excited that we have found an unbelievable voice in Robert Mason (LYNCH MOB), an old friend of the band. We have three dates confirmed, come out and judge for yourself...we don't think you will be disappointed!"

MTV's PR hacks are full of sh*t! We all should know this but last week they hyped the fact that lipsyncing poptart Britney Spears would open this year's VMAs "setting the tone for a night of can't miss moments." Can't miss moments? Bullsh*t! What viewers got instead was "Thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I'm here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday, the 25th anniversary of the VMAs. This is the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and it starts right now." In a way this fits as this year's VMA picks are about as uninspiring as Brit's comments. What's funnier is the mainstream press making a big deal out of this appearance. If you have some minutes to kill and actually care to read more, Reuters has a report

Metallica and Politics Don't Mix |
Here is part of the Blabbermouth report following by a link to the full interview: "Part of me is proud is because they chose Metallica," Hetfield said about the reports that the band's song "Enter Sandman" was used during the interrogation of Mohammed al-Qahtani known as the 20th [9/11] hijacker and that listening to the track brought al-Qahtani to tears "because he thought he was hearing the sound of Satan."
James added, "It's strong; it's music that's powerful. It represents something that they don't like maybe freedom, aggression I don't know freedom of speech. And then part of me is kind of bummed about it that people worry about us being attached to some political statement because of that. We've got nothing to do with this and we're trying to be as apolitical as possible, 'cause I think politics and music, at least for us, don't mix. It separates people, [and] we wanna bring people together. So, so be it. I can't say 'Stop.' I can't say 'Do it.' It is just a thing it's not good or bad."

Whole Lotta Zeppelin Headlines |
Then Jimmy Page had bad news for those that believe recent rumblings mean that a reunion is just around the corner. Blabbermouth reports: Page has dismissed speculation that his recent jam sessions with bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham would lead to a Zeppelin reunion tour. Speaking at a Toronto film festival press conference where he was promoting the documentary film "It Might Get Loud", Page said, "We're not actually really recording. We played at the O2 (concert in London last year). That was our reunion. It's nothing as monumental as what people are speculating and projecting."
He added, "If you're going to do a reunion, you need four members," referring to lead singer Robert Plant's commitment to touring with U.S. country singer Alison Krauss.

Coheed And Cambria's Travis Stever Inks Solo Deal |
Stever explains, "I have a little room in my house where I record all of my ideas - whether it's for Coheed And Cambria or the songs you hear on Nostalgia In Stereo. Sometimes when no one is in there, my wife, many of our guests, and I hear footsteps and other random noises. You can hear the strings vibrate as if someone was trying to play one of the instruments."
