Dear... I ----ing despair again. Hypnagogic States Pp is now up on UK iTunes... 5 tracks for 7.99? For ----s sake! But you only get the 65dos "exploding head syndrome" remix of all four singles if you pay 7.99 for "the album"... Ie you are being asked to pay 4.83 for the 65dos remix... !!! Who the ---- is going to pay this and not feel totally ripped off?

It's not a ----ing album! It's a 5 track EP and you are supposed to get an extra free track (the 65dos remix of "the only one") if you buy it as a 5 track EP and its supposed to cost less if you buy it as a 5 track EP than if you buy the 5 tracks individually... - read more

Portugal. The Man Week: Day 3
antiMusic reports: Alaska rocker's Portugal return to record stores this week with their third album 'Censored Colors,' which promises to take them from underground heroes to the mainstream of the rock world with their incredible sound which takes us back to the day when it was "the music stupid" and not just image that made rockstars. To celebrate the release we asked the band's newest member Ryan Neighbors to pick his favorite tracks from the album and tell us a little bit about each one. Here is Ryan with today's song:

"Colors" was a song we had around for quite a while but didn't really bloom completely until the recording. John had written it outside the Ottobar in Baltimore on an acoustic and Zach and I just started adding in harmonies and such. I think this was the first song where both Zach and I sing with John for almost the entire song which is something that ended up being prominent throughout most of the record.

As the recording of the song progressed throughout the day it just started coming together. The beat Jason played gives it an added intensity and makes fall closer to the side of a rock song. Phil and his sister Tori did all the strings and that really brings out the beauty of the song itself. Its also fun to sing really high (pitched), I think we all enjoy that. Colors being the central them of the record as well, this song is important to the album as a whole.

Wanna hear what it's all about? You can do that plus grab tour dates, learn more about the band and their new album and more - right here!
