Fear Factory Are Back
Rock Radio reports: Fear Factory have confirmed a surprise reunion and will play at this summer's Sonisphere and Bloodstock festivals in the UK. Metal Hammer reveals that Burton C Bell and Dino Cazares, who put the band on hold after their seventh album, 2005's Transgression, had known for some time their new project would be the return of their classic band, along with Fear Factory's last bassist Byron Stroud and drummer Gene Hoglan of Testament fame.

Vocalist Bell says: "We were friends before we were in a band together and after a while we forgot what it was all about.

"The first time we saw each other in a long time was at the Ministry show in LA, and we just started talking again. It was like, I don't really remember what it was all about. Friendships will return." - more on this story

EMI reports: NASCAR Media Group and Virgin Records rock quartet Saving Abel announced today that the music video for the band's third single from their gold certified self-titled debut album will debut exclusively on Yahoo! on Thursday, April 30th. [Sorry their PR didn't supply a link]

The NASCAR-themed video for "Drowning (Face Down)" stars NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeremy Mayfield as an aspiring racer who makes great sacrifices for a chance to compete at the highest level. The driver has no sponsor and no endorsement deals, but pushes forward through all obstacles in pursuit of his racing dreams.

"It was awesome and I can't wait until it comes out," said Jeremy Mayfield, who finished 32nd during Sunday's Aaron's 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. "Just being a part of that was just cool for me. Those guys are great guys and I'm glad to see them coming up. I didn't really know them that well until we did the video and they have a lot of fun. The Cars Elliot Easton Resurfaces With Tiki Gods
PR reports: Famed The Cars' guitarist, Elliot Easton debuts Elliot Easton's Tiki Gods, an Exotica instrumental group featuring some of music's greatest talents on Friday, May 8, at Key Club.

With members from The Brian Wilson Band and The Wondermints, this nine-piece ensemble plans to create waves in the exotica, Tiki music scene.

"There isn't really a word to describe the band's sound," explains Easton. "Think martini lounge, space age, Exotica, with lush, romantic themes from Hollywood 60's movie soundtracks like Pink Panther and James Bond. It's the hybrid sounds of the Tiki culture and Polynesian dance and a combination of surf rock and instrumental mood music. Most importantly, it's a very fun kind of music," he added. "For example, we'll be playing the theme song from Star Trek."
