Blackberry Smoke Set Release
PR reports: On September 29th, the Atlanta based Southern Rock outlaws, Blackberry Smoke, will be releasing their album titled Little Piece of Dixie through BamaJam Records, a new imprint of Stroudavarious Records. This is the second full length release of the group's career, but the first for BamaJam Records.

Country music has seen its share of Southern Rock-influenced acts recently, but it hasn't seen anything like Blackberry Smoke. Blackberry Smoke has shared the stage so far with like-minded rockers including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shooter Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed, ZZ Top, and even has been touted by Brian Johnson of AC/DC as "a band that will never go hungry."

Blackberry Smoke is comprised of brothers, Richard (bass/vocals) and Brit Turner (drums), with Paul Jackson and Charlie Starr on guitar and vocals. Fans that have been coming to their shows for years will be delighted that the energy of Smoke's live performance translates seamlessly to the new album. - more on this story

Painkiller Hotel Set Roctober Release
Rock Ridge reports: Chicago-based alternative rock band Painkiller Hotel has signed with Rock Ridge Music. Their debut album, "Black Roses," will hit stores on October 27, 2009.

Chris Henderson, guitarist for 3 Doors Down, and a principal at Rock Ridge music, was so captivated by the unique sound of PainKiller Hotel that he personally inked the band to the label. "For me, it was all about their songs," Henderson says. "They've got huge hooks. Their sound is unique, and they are such a hardworking band."

Says band lead singer and primary songwriter Kevin Presbrey about the deal: "Signing with Rock Ridge is a very positive step toward our goal of getting our music and creativity out to the masses. I can't tell you how grateful we are for this opportunity. We have a dedicated group of guys, and we're excited to be working with a label that understands the importance of hard work and dedication to the music. We're expecting big things in future, and we're glad to be affiliated with a top notch organization!"

Chthonic Touring With Satyricon, Bleeding Through, and Toxic Holocaust
Adrenaline reports: Just in time for back-to-school, Chthonic announces their upcoming tour with Satyricon, Bleeding Through, and Toxic Holocaust. The tour kicks off on September 23 in West Springfield, VA and will run through October 27th. The

Bassist Doris Yeh comments: "It's great for us to tour the US again; we really miss the fans over there so much. It's a new start for us, even though we've toured the US on Ozzfest before as well as with Obituary and Nile, but after 2 years, we are coming back with a brand new album on a very good label (Spinefarm/Fontana) which has progressed the sounds our previous albums and we believe the fans will love the new songs and new look."
"Also, we are very excited to tour with Satyricon, Bleeding Through AND Toxic Holocaust, the line up is very strong, and I'm sure we we'll have a good time with them on this trek"

CHTHONIC is touring to support their forthcoming release, Mirror of Retribution, which hits streets on September 1st on Spinefarm Records. After years of controversy surrounding how to classify CHTHONIC, the band has clearly asserted themselves on Mirror of Retribution. There is no proper label for the type of dark, melodic, extremely heavy sound the band conveys on their latest release. This sound conveys the deep sadness and despair from old Eastern mythos as well as the unforgivable wrath from the history that Taiwan has experienced.

The States Proclaim We Are The Erasers
Crash Avenue reports: The States will be releasing We Are The Erasers September 22nd on Genious Collective Records. We Are The Erasers is the follow up to Path Of Least Resistance released independently by The States in late 2007 concurrently sending them on a tornadic tour of the US in 2008.

The States's razor-edged rock has the uncanny ability to evoke Radiohead-like dreamscapes, Zeppelin-inspired bombast, and an Orwellian political sensibility...often in the same song. Their forthcoming new album, produced by Chris Grainger (Wilco, Switchfoot), is both intimate and grandiose, at home equally in an echoing arena and in your own headphones.

The band's inventive songwriting has earned accolades from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Grand Prize Winners) and the International Songwriting Contest (Winners), and it has been featured on MTV's "The Hills" and "The Real World," and ESPN's "Baseball Tonight." Q104.3's Jonathan Clarke recently included The States in his list of the Top 10 New York bands.

Port O'Brien Set Album Release
PR reports: Port O'Brien is pleased to announce the release of their third album, threadbare, this October 6th on TBD Records (Radiohead, White Rabbits). The coastal California band, which started as a bedroom project of Van Pierszalowski and Cambria Goodwin, has been hard at work since the release of their acclaimed 2008 album, All We Could Do Was Sing, spending the better part of the last two years touring the world.

As 2009 began, the band started to prepare songs for what was to become threadbare. What started as a light-hearted and loose effort quickly turned into a dense, introspective work following the tragic loss of Cambria's younger brother. They started recording at their friend Jason Quever of Papercuts' living room studio in San Francisco. The songs were given a certain warmth and intimacy that couldn't be achieved in a larger space. The sense of comfort they found gave them the ability to fully realize the weight of the songs. "In the Meantime" explores the desire for contentment in tumultuous times. "High Without the Hope" bookends the album, illuminating the emotion and sense of loss that was felt throughout the recording process.

After spending weeks recording with Jason, the band felt they could work in a more open space. They worked on the more celebratory and rhythmic songs in Los Angeles with Aaron Espinoza of Earlimart at the Ship recording studio. "My Will is Good" and "Oslo Campfire" describe the liberation that follows in the wake of making active changes in one's life following tragedy.

Below you can find the official statement of headliner Shining for this tour and Gwydion had also no other choice than to step away from this badly organized tour by booking agency Metal Maniac from Romania.

The band's thoughts go to their fans, all of them had been looking forward to meet all fans on tour and give them a great show and canceling so short before the tour starts is a nightmare.
