HORSE The Band Now Vagrants
Vagrant reports: Southern California's metaphysical DIY badasses HORSE The Band have signed to Vagrant Records. The oft-misunderstood band of horses is currently writing material for their fourth full-length with plans to enter the studio in March. A mid-summer release is expected.

"Finally we can breathe as humans breathe, walk as humans walk," says vocalist Nathan Winneke. "Band as horses band," chimes in drummer Daniel Pouliot. Keyboardist Erik Engstrom comments, "Vagrant Records has been home to so many of our favorite bands. Now (9, 8, and 7 years after I sent them our first, second, and third demos respectively) the label has renewed their holy vows to 'excellence' by signing us."

HORSE the band has been developing their experimental sound through near-constant touring even booking their own 45-country, 3-month world tour. The band will be touring overseas once more to take part in Australia's Soundwave Festival 2009 before they enter the studio and are gearing up to self-release their Earth Tour DVD and photo book

Yes Orchestra Concert The Focus of Double Disc Live Album
Kayos reports: For five decades, Yes has been a reigning pinnacle of rock music, bringing a level of craftwork, creativity, and innovation that most bands can only wish to achieve. Going far beyond the parameters of traditional Rock 'N' Roll, they have created symphonic masterpieces. Eagle Rock Entertainment, through their Eagle Records subsidiary, is proud to present Symphonic Live, an epic 2CD set which captures these progressive rock titans live.

Previously released as a 2DVD set, Symphonic Live is an aural treat, exploring the expansive nature of Yes' music with the flair of a backing orchestra. Touring to support their symphonic album Magnification, they hit the road in 2001 with a new approach to their live set. They called in the help of the European Festival Orchestra, conducted by Wilhelm Keitel, to add lush new textures to their live set, essentially bringing the spirit of their new album to life on the stage. Not only did they play tracks from Magnification, but re-imagined interpretations of their timeless hits. Classics such as "Owner Of A Lonely Heart," "Long Distance Runaround" and "I've Seen All Good People" have never sounded so grand.

This use of a full orchestra, while incredibly fresh and bold, does not distract from the band. Jon Anderson's voice soars, as if attempting to reach Nirvana, while the virtuosity of guitarist Steve Howe and bassist Chris Squire weave melodies into entrancing soundscapes. The drumming of Alan White goes far beyond the task of keeping time. It re-writes it, with time signatures that should be studied just as much as enjoyed.

Cursive Set Swollen New Release
PR reports: Cursive has confirmed that their sixth full length studio album, Mama, I'm Swollen, will be released March 10, 2009 on Saddle Creek Records.

The follow-up to 2006's Happy Hollow, the new album was recorded this past summer and fall at ARC Studios in Omaha, NE.

Wrestling with life's miseries and mysteries, Mama, I'm Swollen is an album brimming with the universal, questioning the human condition, social morality, and the 'Peter Pan Syndrome' of grown men. Road-tested and refined this past spring and summer via a series of one-off tour dates, Cursive recently previewed the new material to their ardent fans on an 11-date small club tour last month. Of the Cleveland show and new songs, Alternative Press' Music Editor Scott Heisel blogged: "I saw Cursive tonight. Holy h**l, they were awesome. They sprinkled five new songs into their set, my favorite of which has been titled 'What Have I Done?' by fans online. Stop whatever you're doing and spend the next eight minutes watching a video of this absolutely incredible song...I also want to hear Cursive's new album...ASAP." - more on this story

Treponem Pal Reissue
MMP reports: Metal Mind Productions presents rerelease of Treponem Pal's third studio album from 1993 - "Excess & Overdrive". Treponem Pal, the most respected industrial band from France, was formed in 1986, in a time when pop glitz or American glam metal reigned the European music scene.

"Excess & Overdrive" is one of the best heavy industrial albums and at the same time the most successful LP from Treponem Pal's back catalogue. It was produced by Franz Treichler of The Young Gods and featured the club hit "Pushing You Too Far". New digipak edition includes 2 bonus tracks. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc and limited to 2000 copies. The release date is set up for 9th February in Europe and 10th March in USA (via MVD).
