Virtual Crap, Thanks Bill Gates!: Remember a couple days ago we made a little fun of Microsoft helping destroy music by creating new "crapware" that supposedly lets you sing and it creates the backing the music. We feared this may create a whole new generation of hacks making disposable pop but we may have "Jumped" gun a bit, because the "music" created by this "scumware" isn't even fit for a Gene Simmon's solo album. It really is that bad. Want proof? Listen to Diamond David Lee Roth backed by Microsh*t virtual band here.

HD Oasis Documentary Webcast
PR reports: MySpace Music is proud to announce the premiere of the new documentary from Oasis titled "Dig Out Your Soul in the Streets." This insightful short film marks the first HD debut in the history of MySpace Music. The documentary was shot by The Malloys, who have directed numerous music videos for The White Stripes and are currently filming the new Zach Braff feature film 8 Track.

In the weeks leading up to the release of "Dig Out Your Soul," the latest album from Oasis, the band traveled to New York City where they taught street musicians to play a number of their new songs, thus subtly leaking the album before its release. The Malloys followed Oasis and the street musicians throughout the process and created the 18-minute black and white documentary that is playing exclusively on MySpace Music.

The selected street musicians, came from all parts of New York City, and have a variety of different ethnic, musical and creative backgrounds. They performed Oasis's new songs at locations throughout the city, including MTA approved subway station platforms in Grand Central, Times Square, Penn Station and Astor Place. - watch

Randy Jackson Soils Frank Zappa's Memory
antiMusic reports: It's this kind of lame crap that is destroying music. We actually received a press release about the t-shirt Randy Jackson wore on American Idle. It gets worse as they place Jackson in the same category as Frank Zappa, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Robert Plant, Joe Strummer and Jeff Buckley. Sad but true. Here is the hype so you know which shirt to avoid buying or outright boycott:

Randy Jackson already brings rock history to American Idol - as a professional musician, he's played with Keith Richards, Jerry Garcia and Journey - but last night he literally wore it on his sleeve with Worn Free's "Radio Clyde" T-shirt. The shirt was originally worn by Frank Zappa onstage in the late 70s after being given to him by a Scottish radio station of the same name.

With last night's show, Jackson joined the growing number of musicians, actors, [poptards] and entertainers who take pride in being a part of pop culture history with the comfortable, shirts offered by Worn Free. - more on this story

Graham Coxon Discusses Working With Scumbag Magnet Pete Doherty
MusicRadar reports: Blur's Graham Coxon, who plays guitar on Pete Doherty's forthcoming solo album, has spoken out about the frustrations of working with the former Libertine.

According to his post on the Blur Forum, Coxon saw promise in the demos he received but has been frustrated by Pete's propensity to waste his talent. Coxon posted: "I actually like pete as a person a lot. He is very funny, warm and charming."

However, he also pointed out a few of Pete's rather well-known character flaws that put a strain their relationship. "He is also very impressionable, quite vulnerable, rather too trusting... and - basically and unfortunately for him, he is a scumbag magnet." [anyone know if it was really Graham who wrote such things?] - more on this story

Drunk and Disorderly in Canada
PR reports: Cauldron singer Jason Decay explains how they kicked off 2009 in true metal style: "Me and Chris just got hit up with public drunkenness charges for drinking open liquor on King Street West... Kinda sucks, and there's no criminal record, but we both got $125 dollar fines. This is no coincidence! Oh, and we also wrote our new hit single tonite, "Don't Say That You Love Me", to be featured on our new next album. Sh*t, what a good nite that got sh*tty!"

Drummer Chris Rites states: "We were trying to be nice and co-operate 'cause usually they just make you dump it out, but when they started writing up the tickets I got pissed. I managed to contain myself though, 'cause I didn't want to end up in the drunk tank again."

And the end result? Jason Decay closes: "Well, I was gonna call in sick today, but now I definitely have to go to work to pay off the ticket. My big concern was making sure that this wouldn't affect our criminal records when leaving the country. I tried to get rid of my bottle by throwing it on the ground, but it ended up smashing and being even more noticeable. Chris was keeping his tall in his pocket the whole time thinking that maybe he wouldn't have to dump it out, but they turned their sh*t road on that too."
