PR reports: The Airborne Toxic Event announces two new dates added to their world tour today: Tuesday September 22nd in Salt Lake City, UT at In The Venue and Wednesday September 23rd in Denver, CO at the Ogden Theatre. The band will be co-headlining with Arctic Monkeys.

The band will bring the music from their eponymous debut throughout the world, playing in 11 countries and on 4 continents. The album, which features the Top 5 single "Sometime Around Midnight," was released August of 2008 on an indie label, and after a slow yet steady ascension has topped Billboard's Heatseekers chart the last three weeks, bringing the total number of times the album has been #1 on this chart to three. The band also passed the 100K threshold in albums sold.

The band's second single, "Wishing Well," has made a strong entry onto the Modern Rock chart while the first single, the haunting "Sometime Around Midnight" has now entered the top 40 of the Hot AC Chart after being a Top 5 hit at Modern Rock for 6 weeks. - more on this story

Manchester Orchestra Web Transmission
PR reports: MySpace Music is proud to announce the latest "Transmissions" session with the Atlanta-based rock band Manchester Orchestra.

The session is now live on the band's Myspace and available for all MySpace users to download for free. MySpace Music "Transmissions" is an in-studio session and interview that empowers top recording artists with a new platform to create and distribute exclusive video content for viral distribution and audio tracks made available for purchase.

Mean Everything To Nothing, the second album from Manchester Orchestra, is everything you want a rock record to be: raw, urgent, emotional, and 100 percent authentic. Inspired by the pounding, primal assault of Weezer's Pinkerton, Nirvana's In Utero, and Foo Fighters' The Colour and the Shape, this young band has created its own version of what a classic rock album should sound like, complete with fiercely beautiful melodies, shifting guitar and keyboard textures, loud/soft dynamics, and an urgency in each band member's performance, especially frontman Andy Hull's cathartic vocals. - more on this story

I and Love and You was recorded in Malibu, California and produced by multi-Grammy Award winning producer, Rick Rubin. The thirteen songs that make up this new record defy pigeonholing and can best be described as an amalgam of rock, folk, pop and country.

The band has spent years touring, recording, performing and perfecting this blend of music styles with their signature lyrics and vocals. I and Love and You will also be available at participating Starbucks company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada and wherever music is sold. - more on this story

Country Rockers Blackberry Smoke Eye New Release
Webster and Assoc reports: The South has risen again with the signing of Atlanta's Blackberry Smoke to BamaJam Records, a new imprint of Stroudavarious Records. The imprint's first release will be Blackberry Smoke's sophomore album, Little Piece Of Dixie.

Touted by Brian Johnson of AC/DC as "a band that will never go hungry", Blackberry Smoke is comprised of brothers, Richard (bass/vocals) and Brit Turner (drums), with Paul Jackson and Charlie Starr on guitar and vocals. The band is brimming with showmanship and attitude with tight vocals and southern fried lyrics. Fans that have been coming to their shows for years will be delighted that the energy of Smoke's live performance translates seamlessly to the new album.

Country music has seen its share of southern rock influenced acts recently, but it hasn't seen anything like Blackberry Smoke. Where other bands claim influence by the past, Blackberry Smoke lives and breathes those influences. "This is best live band in the South," says James Stroud, CEO of Stroudavarious Records. "Their show is beyond belief; just awesome," Stroud says of the band that has shared the stage with ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shooter Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed and others. - more on this story

Dandy Stream
PR reports: Starting today, July 13, The Dandy Warhols ARE Sound, the previously unheard "Director's Cut" of 2003's Welcome To The Monkey House, will be streaming exclusively online.

The Dandy Warhols ARE Sound comes out on July 14, on the band's own Beat The World Records. The album was mixed by Russell Elavedo, a GRAMMY-award winning soul mixing engineer whose credits include D'Angelo's Brown Sugar, The Roots' The Roots Come Alive, Common's Like Water for Chocolate, and Alicia Keys' Songs in A Minor, among others.

And starting in September, the band will commence their late Summer 2009 tour. They'll stop first in Indianapolis before heading off to Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Albuquerque. The last stop of their tour will be at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, where the band will be closing out the final day of Monolith alongside Phoenix, among many others. All shows are all ages, and opening on each date will be neo-psychedelic Spaghetti-Western band Spindrift, who released their record The West on Beat The World in November 2008. - more on this story

Spartan Warrior Revisited
MMP reports: Metal Mind Productions will rerelease "Spartan Warrior" on 27th July in Europe and 8th September in USA (via MVD). New digipak edition is limited to numbered 2000 copies and digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on a golden disc.

The New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement introduced many talented bands over the years, some of which became living legends of the genre. Although Spartan Warrior never managed to reach the first league, their albums remain worthy representatives of the old-school British scene, delivering a masterful combination of 70's hard rock, glam, speed and heavy metal.

The exclusive re-release of the group's second and most prominent offering brings back a forgotten classic that truly captures the essence of NWOBHM. Released in 1984, their self-titled offering brought a collection of brilliantly written heavy metal tracks, strongly influenced by other genres such as 70's hard rock and glam. With clear nods to such acts as Saxon, Tank, Iron Maiden and even the Scorpions, the band's music introduced all the best features of the NWOBHM movement. The album included fast, heavy metal tunes such as "Mercenary" and "Sentenced To Die", hard rocking classics "I'm On Heat" and "Son of a Bitch", and slower, more melodic fragments like "Assassin" and the power ballad-themed "Hanging On".

Lynam Ink Mega Deal
PR reports: Birmingham Alabama rock band Lynam has signed a new deal with Mascot / Megaforce Records. The bands latest effort "Tragic City Symphony" will be re-released worldwide in August and will feature the additional track "Get Me Off".

The bands last single "Save My Soul", was self released and made it to #5 on the active rock independent chart. The bands next single "Lindsay Says" will be impacting radio on August 18th.

The follow-up to 2006's "Slave To The Machine", "Tragic City Symphony" was produced by Jason Elgin (Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, Collective Soul) and Jacob Lynam. The band says, "Elgin brings out the best in us and on this new record he has pushed us to new levels. The songs are straight-ahead, melt-your-face rock songs in true Lynam style. We have some really cool special guests on the new record, including the band Hinder and Tom Keifer of Cinderella." - more on this story

Tall Poppy Syndrome has what I like to call Limp-Dick Syndrome, so right off the gun I can tell you this here is a rough ride. Although one could argue Leprous is fantastic on paper, one should not judge a book by its cover. - Read the full Leprous – Tall Poppy Syndrome review
