Billy Talent War Against Guitar Hero |
The summer release of Billy Talent III was accompanied by an edition called Guitar Villain, which featured the entire album but with the guitar tracks removed.
And Kowalewicz says the idea came up after a friend of the band discussed how much he enjoyed guitarist Ian D'Sa's playing. The Canadian frontman tells AltPress: "It was this whimsical idea of doing our own version of Guitar Hero. I think it's really cool on a couple of levels. It encourages people to pick up a guitar and play as opposed to picking up something with five buttons and pretending to play."

Metallica Launch iPhone Ap |
In our ongoing efforts to be of service and give you as many options as possible in the digital era, we asked the brainiacs that help us out with LiveMetallica.com to come up with a super cool iPhone application that creates a streaming interface to your LiveMetallica account. In non-tech talk, that means that any show you have downloaded from the site will automatically stream to your iPhone once you launch the $.99 app. And the bonus is that the latest show on the site will always be streaming for free!
It's pretty simple, search "Metallica" in the iPhone App Store to find the Live Metallica app. Purchase the app, log into your existing LiveMetallica.com account or register as a new user, and voila . . . every show you've purchased is there under the "listen" tab, along with a free stream of the latest show on the tour! You can listen to samples of over 5,300 live songs from close to 300 shows, and if you hear something you like, purchase it through the app and it will automatically stream on your phone . . . of course you can download your purchase to your computer later at your leisure. Shows from the free "Vault" section of the site are always streaming, and you can check out photos and notes from almost every show going back to 2004 when the site launched.

Inhale Exhale Week: Final Day |
Ryland Raus: This song is about wanting to be far away from a situation, but at the same time wanting to be a big part of that situation. It deals with trying to escape and forget about lies that were told to you. It also goes on to question the others that you are dealing with as well as yourself. The main theme is trying to erase past pain and replace it with positive new memories.
John LaRussa: I wrote this song with the mindset to be more melodic all the way through. I didn't want to write a chaotic song, I wanted to write a song full of melody. Because the end was so "heavy." So I wanted to keep the technicality of what the album had, but still keep the song catchy. I think the song captures the punch of the album, but people will realize that it's a different step from the rest of the record the more they listen to it.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
