Ozzy Won't Deliver Blizzard of Ozz Shows
Your hopes of hearing "No Bone Movies" played on an upcoming Ozzy Osbourne tour are now shattered. BW&BK has the story: Despite a report last week that Ozzy Osbourne was thinking of playing one or both of his first two solo albums, Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman, in their entirety on his upcoming tour, the Black Sabbath singer says that he doesn't see that happening.

"No," he said. "The production and the pitch in my singing was way off the Richter scale. It would be nice, but if I had known then what I know now, I'd would have probably done it differently. But what I am gonna do, I'm gonna do some different songs like from the Sabbath years, and I'm gonna try and do some different Ozzy songs. I've got so many songs, I'd make a list and it's like four hours long. There's no way I could do that, you know."

30th Anniversary Legacy Editions of Ozzy's first two legendary solo albums featuring the late guitarist Randy Rhoads - Blizzard Of Ozz (1980) and Diary Of A Madman (1981) - are due out later this year. - more on this story

The one-time performance, being billed as 'Haste The Day vs Haste The Day' will feature all the former members of the band coming back to play the old favorites.

"This may turn out to be the best Haste The Day show that will ever happen," explains bassist Mike Murphy. "It's hard when band members grow older and no longer have the energy and passion to stay on the road. With HTD, our purpose has always been bigger than the individual members. We want to be be a voice to kids at shows, that they are loved and important. So, as members leave, they pass the torch to the newer guys, and the mission continues on. There are no hard feelings within the HTD camp and we are blessed that both versions of the band are essentially one big family. Bret Michaels Health and Legacy
Bret Michaels Lazarus like recovery from a string of medical emergency appears to be holding strong with the singer planning more concerts. AP spoke with last week about his immediate plans and the impact of his health problems on his legacy. Here is part of that report:

"I think this is good for my soul," Michaels told AP on Thursday. "Honestly, I'm taking every precaution. I'm not doing anything stupid. I'm going on stage and telling the fans that I'm going to give 100 percent of everything I've got, but if it's only 75 or 80 percent, I think they will understand."

"I don't want my legacy to be that I had a brain hemorrhage," said Michaels. "I want it to be that I rocked, I treated people with respect and I made a lot of good friends along the way. I think that came back to me when I got sick. I truly believe if you're a good person, and you spread love, then that love will come back to you." - more on this story

Ozzy and Iommi Settle Over Black Sabbath
Ozzy Osbourne says that he has settled his lawsuit against Tony Iommi over the use of the Black Sabbath brand and that everything is now okay between the former bandmates according to Blabbermouth.

When asked if there was once again a chance for the original Black Sabbath lineup to get together again Ozzy responded, "Well, I never say never," he said. "I mean, I've got a few ideas, but we'll see what happens, you know. We did try and do another album, but we've all changed so much and it's if you don't do an album that blows the doors off the last one that we did together, then it's gonna be looked upon as a joke, you know."

Blabbermouth reports that Ozzy filed a lawsuit against Iommi in May 2009, claiming that Iommi illegally took sole ownership of the band's name in a filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Osbourne sued Iommi for a 50 percent interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name - more on this story

Aerosmith Sending Mixed Signals
The latest mystery surrounding Aerosmith is whether the band will or will not record a new studio album. Lead guitarist Joe Perry isn't helping solve the mystery by giving conflicting answers in different interviews.

As we told you last week, Perry told the Guardian, "Until a couple of years ago, fans would ask for more records like the old records, but that's all fallen off. New material is not that important any more. We've been at this for a long time. I think of some of the songs I've written or co-written and I think, why should I bother trying to top that? It's like Leonardo Da Vinci painting the Madonna again. Why should I paint the Madonna again?"

But Perry tells RollingStone.com, "Looking at the calendar we'll probably be going into the studio sometime around the holidays or maybe in the beginning of next year," he says. "We'll have to take time off from touring to make the best record we can make. We owe it to ourselves to make the best record we can make." -

Paul McCartney Really Is Dead?
Here something for Paul is Dead conspiracy theory buffs, there is a claim that George Harrison confirmed the whole thing. Paul McCartney has his 68th birthday coming up on June 18th. Or does he? The following description of the film is provided by director Joel Gilbert of Highway 61 Entertainment: In the summer of 2005, a package arrived at the Hollywood offices of Highway 61 Entertainment from London with no return address. Inside were two mini-cassette audio tapes dated
December 30, 1999 and labeled The Last Testament Of George Harrison.

A voice identical to Harrison tells a shocking story: Paul McCartney was killed in a car crash in November of 1966 and replaced with a double! British intelligence, MI5, had forced the Beatles to cover up McCartney's death to prevent mass suicides of Beatle fans. Deftones' Chi Cheng Showing Signs of Improvement
We were sent over an update on Deftones star Chi Cheng's health condition and it is good news. Here is the announcement: At Chi Cheng's routine checkup on May 19th, 2010, it was apparent to Dr. Joseph Nguyen, who has followed his progress for the past 8 months, that there was marked improvement. He wrote in his progress notes that Cheng was "showing signs of improved Neuro Function and improved alertness at this time. Increased Response to Verbal Stimuli. Directed Movement, with purpose seen and observed." Amazing report for Cheng, who was involved in a car accident November 3rd, 2008 and spent much of the last 18 months in a semi-conscious state.

According to Cheng's sister, Mae, Nguyen's reaction as soon as he walked into the room and saw her brother was profound. "When he came in, he took one look at Dai [Cheng] and was floored. He couldn't believe it. He saw a man waking up," This coming after the beginning phases of a very specific 'wake up' protocol that was implemented in mid January 2010.

Dr. DeFina, Chief Scientific Officer and founder of International Brain Research Foundation (www.ibrfinc.org) along with Dr. Jonathan Fellus, director of Brain Injury Services at the Kessler Institute, got Cheng started on the groundbreaking protocol that applies already approved medications, electrical stimulation and nutraceuticals to the patient as a virtual cocktail that has had a dramatic impact on his patients. So dramatic that DeFina has an 84% success rate in waking up patients from minimally conscious states or vegetative state comas. No Justice for Guns N' Roses Hit N' Run
Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke spoke with AOL's Noisecreep about his recovery from a hit-and-run accident on his motorcycle on January 10. In the interview Clarke reveals his frustration with police's inability to bring the hit n' run driver to justice.

Noisecreep: Can you recount what happened with your hit and run, which is the worst kind of health scare. Gilby: I was riding my 1965 Harley that I customized myself, riding back from a show, when some dumb ass made a left hand turn in front of me. It knocked me down, and when I woke up, my leg was busted and the other was twisted. He did a burn out and took off.

Noisecreep: Has he ever been caught? Gilby: It is strange. They did not find him, but a friend found out who it was. No one got a license plate number and there were a number of different descriptions of the truck and not a lot of evidence. But somehow, one of my friends overheard a guy talking about how he hit a motorcycle and said that he took off since he had no insurance, no driver's license. I gave the info to a detective, but he didn't do anything. Since there were no eyewitnesses, there was nothing they could do. The LAPD won't do anything unless you die. It was extremely frustrating. - read the full interview here

A Perfect Circle Returning This Year
Antiquiet has the good word about happenings in the A Perfect Circle camp: Songwriter Billy Howerdel and vocalist Maynard James Keenan are once again working together as A Perfect Circle, and new music from the beloved group is on the way.

On Wednesday, Howerdel performed with his band Ashes Divide at The Viper Room in Hollywood, on the stage that A Perfect Circle was originally debuted on August 15th, 1999.

After the set, the third of a four-night June residency, which featured a guest appearance by Keenan, we tracked down Howerdel for the good word. The possibilities of a full album and tour are both still very much in the air. However, Howerdel told us on the record that they're working on "something" that should be out this year. - more on this story

U2, Nirvana, Metallica and Aerosmith for Rock Symphonies
Last years biggest selling new classical music artist is going rock: David Garrett brings listeners along on a roller coaster ride of genres colliding on his sophomore album, Rock Symphonies.

Rock Symphonies displays Garrett's love of both classical and rock, marrying the two genres with a fierce intensity. Featuring new interpretations of his favorite rock anthems by U2, Nirvana, Metallica and Aerosmith to name a few, David's virtuosic violin playing shines through with precision and power, backed by his band and The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. With his new Public Television concert special slated for an August broadcast, David Garrett is poised to be the breakout star of the summer. Rock Symphonies will be released on Decca July 20th.

The evolution of Rock Symphonies was a natural one for the 28-year-old Garrett. Having spent 2009 on tour in all corners of the world, he would find himself performing in clubs to arenas with a live rock band one night, followed by a classical concert hall with full symphony orchestra the next. Having a dual career is a rarity, and doing it successfully even more so. The bold violinist has always been a fan of both the classical and rock worlds he straddles. "I always enjoyed when rock groups integrated orchestra into in their sound, and it elevated the music to another level," comments Garrett. He continues, "any musician loves having the full sound of an orchestra behind them - it's an amazing experience." - more on this story

Ozzy Denies Firing Zakk Wylde
Ozzy Osbourne has gone on the record about his new band lineup but also once again addressed his very public parting with Zakk Wylde. BW&BK has the report:

With a band made up of drummer Tommy Clufetos, bassist Blasko, keyboardist Adam Wakeman, and new guitarist, Gus G., Ozzy talks about the change that came with the departure of Zakk Wylde. "It's not changed that much, apart from the fact that I thought I was beginning to sound like, um what's his band called? Zakk's band. My brain, it just started on the left side. Black Label Society. I started to sound like Black Label Society."

Ozzy insists that Wylde wasn't fired. "I don't want anyone to think for one minute that I fired him. I never fired him. He never left. There was nothing to leave. Because all he was doing was his gig and mine. It kind of got to us crashing into each other. But I had to let go, because it's me rather than him." - more on this story

Why Ozzy Won't Retire
(Rock Radio) Ozzy Osbourne is back in the saddle after a year out and has no intention of quitting anytime soon [because it might kill him?]

He tells Jam: "Sharon gave me the year off and when I retired before, you've got to have something to retire to. You can't just go, 'I'm wealthy, I've got a house here, and a house there, and a car here, and a car there.' And you drive around the house and you drive around the streets, you drive around a few things, and then what?

"One thing I learned was you've got to have something to retire to. My father got early retirement, he died a year after. The routine that we build ourselves into is our mechanism, and once you throw a spanner in the works, you throw it off." - more on this story

Ozzy's Real Reason For Firing Zakk Wylde
Times they have changed for Ozzy Osbourne. The "Prince of Darkness" has revealed yet another reason for firing Zakk Wylde: Apparently Ozzy felt that Zakk was drinking too much. That's what he reportedly has told Guitar World magazine according to Jam!

Osbourne tells Guitar World magazine, "Zakk came in at the beginning of the new one (record), but he was still drinking. When you're drunk and somebody else is drinking, it's OK, but when you're sober and somebody's blabbering away in your ear, it ain't. I mean, Zakk's a great player and I love him. I love his playing. But in the end, it came to the point that I had to get another guitarist.

"It was hard for me to be around someone who is actively drinking. I heard he's not drinking anymore. I don't know if that's true or not." Ozzy said. "I love his playing; he's one of the greats. But it was the drink getting the better of him. I couldn't watch him die. In one sick respect, it was good for me to see, because that's what I was like, and worse. Believe me, if I started drinking now you'd think, 'F**k, this is b**locks! I've got to get out of here.' - Jam! Report

The Eels frontman had a bit of a run in with authorities in the UK after his beard apparently set off some red flags. NME reports that London police questioned Mark Oliver Everett, aka E in Hyde Park on Monday, June 21, after a suspicious person fitting his description was reported outside a nearby embassy.

The heavily bearded Everett was taking a break between interviews at a nearby hotel to promote the new EELS album Tomorrow Morning.

After telling the police he was a rock musician, not a terrorist, they let him return to his press duties. Says Everett about the incident, "Not every guy with short hair and a long beard is a terrorist. Some of us just want to rock." - more on this story
