Meat Loaf Faints At Another Concert
(TMZ) Three days after passing out at a concert in Pittsburgh, Meat Loaf fainted AGAIN at a show in New Jersey -- and this time ... the 63-year-old singer had to be hooked up to an oxygen machine.

Meat was playing the New Jersey Balloon Festival on Sunday -- and after finishing his set, we're told he collapsed backstage and requested oxygen.

As we previously reported, Meat Loaf suffers from asthma. Thankfully, the singer pulled himself together after ten minutes on the breathing apparatus -- and didn't require further medical attention. more on this story

Kings of Leon Cancel Tour After Meltdown
(Rock News Desk) Kings of Leon have cancelled the rest of their US tour following Caleb Followill's onstage meltdown at the weekend.

The frontman appeared tired and emotional during the band's show in Dallas, Texas, as he told the crowd: "I'm going to go backstage and vomit, drink a beer and then come back out and play three more songs." But he didn't return, leaving bassist Jared Followill to apologise to the audience. Responding to the official statement that Caleb had simply been dehydrated Jared tweeted: "I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."

Now the Kings have called off their remaining shows and will take a two-month break. They're set to return to the stage again on September 28 in Canada. An official statement says: "The band are devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break." more on this story

Welcome 2 Alice Cooper's New Nightmare
Alice Cooper has set a September 13th release date for his new album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare. Here is the official word with all of the details:

Recorded with longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, who produced the original multi-platinum Welcome To My Nightmare album in 1975, the album picks up right where they left off, with Alice trapped in his own warped mind. The original release is an all-time rock classic that spawned a worldwide theatrical tour and pioneering U.S. TV special, and certified Alice Cooper as a visionary trailblazer whose influence persists today in rock, metal, pop, punk, theatre, television, film and much more.

More than 35 years later, Alice and Ezrin have resurrected the horror and humor for a new generation. "This is Alice's nightmare 35 years later," explains Alice, "Bob and I created this character and we know how to write for him. I play the part but we're not writing for me, we're writing for Alice. We kept the first Nightmare album very personal to us, on this one we found more humor and we were more open. This was our world and we want to present it to the fans. The original album was my first solo album after all those huge hit records with the original band and now that nightmare is exposed, this one can be a little bit more open. The music crosses all sorts of boundaries; we went where the lyrics took us."

Former Deep Purple Singer Seeing Red
(Rock News Desk) Former Rainbow and Deep Purple singer Joe Lynn Turner has slammed the online release of demo tracks he recorded two years ago, saying the person behind their issue is trying to usurp his success.

He says guitarist Scott Rolaf has acted "criminally" in making available an album called Light of Day long after Turner had severed all ties with him. Turner reports: "While there was discussion of releasing some of the demos as part of an album, I was not happy with the way the collaboration was progressing on all levels artistically, musically, and how it was being presented online.

"That's why I stopped all contact with Scott Rolaf. We were at odds. However, he continued to pretend on social media sites that we were still friends and the project was moving forward. That was an outright lie. more on this story

Bury Your Dead Return With Mat Bruso
Bury Your Dead's new album Mosh 'n' Roll hits today, August 2. The album marks the return of BYD's vocalist Mat Bruso for the first time since 2007

"In the years I spent away from Bury Your Dead, I spent a lot of time thinking of all the things I could say on tour or on a record that I can't get away with saying in the real world," explains Bruso. "I would listen to the old stuff and think, "I can't believe that I used to yell this and kids would yell it right back." Doesn't work like that in the real world. I never thought I was the kind of guy who needed to write poetry or lyrics to get by; I just enjoyed doing it. But, I found myself scribbling things down and repeating lines to an imaginary song in my head all day at work, "You're not getting older, you're just getting old," over and over again. I jumped at the chance to get some of these lyrics off my chest, doing guest vocals for Four Year Strong and The Ghost Inside. So when BURY YOUR DEAD asked me if I wanted to do another record, well, f**k yes. "

"This record has some of the heaviest songs Bury Your Dead has ever written, and lyrically it is my favorite," adds Bruso. "Marks feet do all the things we have come to expect them to, and Slim chugs so much, I don't even think his guitar is making notes half the time. The whole thing is written to be played live. It speeds up for two-step parts live and slows the f**k down for some incredibly violent breakdowns. I say some of my favorite things ever. It continues the themes of family and forgiveness, but abandons whinny tour lyrics and is just the most bitter and angry stuff we could muster. I am still Edge, but some of the lyrics she proposed were about drinking and I feel like they worked as metaphor for sh*tty destructive decisions we all make, and it gets me so pumped just thinking about playing them live." more on this story

Dream Inspires Beatles Barbershop

The Flaming Lips Frontman Presides over Wizard of Oz Marriage
(Gibson) The Flaming Lips closed Montreal's Osheaga Festival with a bit of wedded bliss. Following a complete performance of the band's 1999 album, The Soft Bulletin, lead singer Wayne Coyne beckoned two fans to the front of the stage, according to Spinner.

A woman dressed as Dorothy (from The Wizard of Oz) and a man dressed as a lion met Coyne, as the rest of the band played a muzak-esque version of "Do You Realize??"

Coyne established the bonds of marriage with grandeur: "By the power of the Flaming Lips, the universe and LSD, I now pronounce you man and wife!" The Lips then performed the real version of "Do You Realize??" before a crowd of thousands. more on this story

Camper Van Beethoven's Jonathan Segel Sets New Album Release
Camper Van Beethoven's Jonathan Segel has set an November 1st release date for his recently recorded solo record, All Attractions, mixed, mastered and distributed to fans.

As Jonathan explains about this project, "After my last album, Honey, I really wasn't going to make another rock record. But ultimately I couldn't help myself, and wrote some songs that I think are gonna be great - once we get them all mixed and whatnot. So the whole thing is actually nearly all recorded now. Now comes the hard part: mixing, mastering, putting it all together and getting it to the people that want to hear it. The whole process of doing this stuff, (especially that last part) is getting so weird that I thought this would be the best way [to help, in part, to fund the new record]."

As part of this project Jonathan will not only be releasing the full-length All Attractions studio album, but also a six-track bonus instrumental EP entitled Apricot Jam, an organic collection of improvised jamming between him (guitar), John Hanes (drums), fellow CVB alum Victor Krummenacher (bass) and Graham Connah (Hammond organ). The title is an obvious nod to George Harrison's third LP Apple Jam in the All Things Must Pass set. more on this story

Beyond Terror Beyond Grace Preview New Album
Beyond Terror Beyond Grace have posted a preview of their forthcoming album, Nadir, online. Here is what they had to say:

There are snippets of 4 new tracks, all of which appear on the album. We have well and truly expanded our sound, and the material is much darker, more climactic, and suffocating than anything we have done before.

The album contains 7 tracks, all of which clock over the 6 minute mark, which was a refreshing change from the musical limitations that came with our shorter tracks on past albums. Dynamics and variation became very important, and when writing 'Nadir' this was definitely the focus. Check it out here

Singled Out: Mariachi El Bronx's Revolution Girls
Today Matt from Mariachi El Bronx tells us about "Revolution Girls" from their brand new album "Mariachi El Bronx II". Here is the story:

As a native Californian, I look back very fondly on the first time I crossed into Mexico and walked down Revolution Blvd (the main drag in Tijuana, Mexico). Its a right of passage, a shock to the senses.. Music blaring from all angles as drug dealers, prostitutes, terrified tourists, confused kids and desperate drunks melt under the Mexico sun.

Federales keep a watchful eye with fully loaded assault rifles and donkeys spray-painted like zebras pose for photographs. It is truly a magical place. The song "revolution Girls" is a celebration of the "special" type of love that exists in this Mexican Graceland. The story of a boy falling in love with a beautiful Hispanic prostitute. In one fowl swoop his naive lust takes him down a road from which he will never return. Not that he would ever want to.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album
